Next Sabbath, during the Nursery Sabbath School Parent Time, we will start studying together the book "Your Money Map: A Proven 7-Step Guide to True Financial Freedom" by Howard Dayton. This book provides a biblical and practical perspective about finances within God's big picture, with 7 steps for wise stewardship. You can't miss it!

The discussion will be based on the podcast “Revived Motherhood” by Becky Thompson.

This week, during parent time, we will study "The Adventist Home—Section 14: Guarding the Avenues of the Soul"

Discussion Questions:

1. When you were growing up what was one thing you remember your mom/dad being very intentional about protecting you from.

2. Share a scar story—one of your earliest scars you remember.

3. What are some things you have done to protect your kids at home?

4. What kinds of things are you doing to intentionally protect what your children see, hear, and say?

5. What enticing sights and sounds are you most concerned about protecting your children from as they mature? Where might these influences come from and what dangers are you concerned about?

6. What principles will guide you as you select/guide what your children read, watch, and listen to? (Books magazines, movies, music)?

7. What are some of the consequences for not being watchful that we need to be aware of as parents?

Section 1 Review:
“The home should be to the children the most attractive place in the world, and the mother’s presence should be its greatest attraction. Children have sensitive, loving natures. They are easily pleased, and easily made unhappy. By gentle discipline, in loving words and acts, mothers may bind their children to their hearts” (The Adventist Home, page 21).
