KIDS SING FOR HIM
An Invitation to Our School and Church Family

Last week we shared that this coming Sabbath there will be a special music program happening at the Village Seventh-day Adventist Church involving our students. We have been brainstorming for the best title for the program, and the name “Kids Sing for Him” was suggested and chosen. The students will share all the songs they have been learning at school in chapel. These are great songs and choruses that we are bringing back to life. You are warmly invited to join us for an hour of singing just like we enjoy at school each Thursday morning.

Please join us at the Village Seventh day Adventist Church on October 17 at 4:30 PM for the very first “Kids Sing for Him” as we praise God together!

“When I grow up I want to be a …” Last week, grades K-2 had an opportunity to dive into the work world during Career Day. It’s quite fascinating to walk into a room where you have curious and eager students who love to learn . A huge THANK YOU to our guest /parent speakers and police officer Matt. We appreciate your time and service.

This week in Mrs. Gusky‘s cooking mini-course, students learned practical kitchen skills while making sushi rolls and pumpkin bread. From following recipes to measuring, mixing, rolling, and working together, these are skills they can carry with them long after classes over.

A special thank you to the wonderful volunteers who give their time and talents to make experiences like this possible. Our students benefit so much from adults who are willing to share what they know.

Things got a little squirmy in science class this week! Our seventh and eighth grade students explored invertebrates with Ms. Taylor through an earthworm dissection. After observing live specimens, they began the dissection of prepared worms. They examined anatomy, identified body systems – and even got up close with the worm’s brain! Science is hands-on…sometimes very hands-on!

A beautiful first performance! Our hand bell group and choir shared music, joy, and a little taste of heaven this last Sabbath. We are grateful for the gift of music and the spirit that brought us together.

Sand, sun, science, and scripture. Our seventh and eighth grade students had an unforgettable day at the dunes — worshiping by the water, exploring God‘s amazing creation through ecology, and tackling those dunes one sandy step at a time.
