This past weekend, we had the opportunity to attend an incredible wrestling camp with the Mantanona family, and what an experience it was.
One thing I truly believe is that if you want to be the best, you have to train with the best. Stepping outside of your comfort zone and learning from high-level athletes and coaches is how you continue to grow.
People are often surprised to hear how much wrestling connects with karate, but the crossover is huge. Wrestling develops balance, timing, footwork, body control, pressure, grips, takedowns, and the ability to dictate distance—all skills that make us better martial artists. The more complete we become, the stronger our karate becomes.
We are incredibly grateful to the Mantanona family for sharing their knowledge, creating such a positive environment, and investing in the next generation of athletes. Your passion for the sport and willingness to give back is inspiring.
Thank you for an unforgettable weekend. We learned so much, made great memories, and can’t wait to keep applying these lessons on the mat. 🥋🤼💪🏼
