Thank you for stopping by to learn more about what I can offer you and your child(ren). I have 17 years of fulltime classroom experience. I have taught full time in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades and have experience with a wide range of ability levels. I have loads of experience working with kids with learning disabilities as well as ADHD and other cognitive challenges. I enjoy working one on one with st

udents who need help making significant progress. I know the tips, tricks and lingo to help get your child on track. I will provide individualized lessons that are suitable to your child's specific needs. I strongly believe in using hands on teaching and creating authentic learning opportunities. I currently have an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card as we moved from AZ to WI a year ago. I can also provide references upon request! My rates are $20/per 40 minute session. I am currently filling slots for M,T,W,F afternoons and Saturday mornings. I taught for many years in the public schools. I loved it and teaching has never left my heart or brain. It’s part of me and will be forever. Because some of our own kiddos require a different learning setting I made the hard decision to leave the classroom and homeschool. I’d love the chance to help your child in their area of need too! ❤️

A little Q and A

Q. Where is tutoring located?
A. Berlin Public Library

Q. How do you know where to start with my child?
A. Along with whatever information you provide me with, I have multiple ways of assessing where knowledge gaps have occurred. I take this information and plan my lessons in a sequential order that makes sense to your child.

Q. Will there be "homework?"
A. This will be up to you. I can provide you with games to play at home that will help your child practice reading and math but are not seen as "homework." I can also point you to resources on the web that may be helpful.

Q. Will you correspond with my child's teacher?
A. This is up to you. I am more than happy to speak to the teacher to find out specific needs. As a former classroom teacher, I found it helpful to work as a team with the tutor. It only benefits the student!

Q. Do you have references?
A. Yes! I have excellent references and a current finger print clearance card. If you would like to see these please just ask, I am happy to provide!

Q. What is your experience working with kids?
A. 5 children of my own. 3 with ADHD and learning challenges. 17 years full time in public school in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade! Before all of that I was a student at Arizona State University and worked as a lead at an after school program. So basically, my whole adult life!
