Buckingham Elementary School is located in the town of Berlin, approximately 10 miles west of Ocean City in Worcester County, Maryland. As a neighborhood school, Buckingham Elementary serves 530 students in grades Pre-K3 through 4. Buckingham Elementary is situated in a Fine Arts District and integrates all forms of the arts across its curriculum. Students at BES have access to a wealth of technology and digital resources as part of our 1:1 district initiative, where each student has access to their own iPad to use during the school day. Buckingham Elementary School has been recognized by the Maryland State Department of Education as a Positive Behaviors and Supports Exemplar/Gold School. In 2017 Buckingham was selected as a National Title I Distinguished School. BES was also named a 2018 Maryland Green School through developing sustainable practices. We place a high focus on teaching respect and building character in all our students. At BES, we believe that the staff, students, parents and community have come "Together for Success!"

Sparky, Fire Trucks, and Fun! 🚒🔥

A huge thank you to the Berlin Fire Department for visiting us today for Fire Prevention Week!

We enjoyed a fantastic outdoor presentation where our students learned important safety tips and saw firefighters up close in their full gear. The excitement continued as students got to meet Sparky the Fire Dog, explore the equipment on the ladder truck, and even climb inside both the ladder truck and the ambulance!

Thank you to our local heroes for taking the time to teach and inspire our students today!

Yesterday was National Coaches Day, and we want to take a moment to shine a well-deserved spotlight on our incredible academic coaches Mrs. Hanenfeld, Mrs. Winterson and our curriculum coordinator, Mrs. Jack!

Behind every successful classroom strategy, data-driven lesson plan, and supported teacher is an exceptional coach who guides the way. Thank you for your tireless dedication, endless patience, and the heart you pour into helping both our educators and students thrive every single day.

Please join us in celebrating and thanking our academic coaches for everything they do for our school!
