Berkley African American Parent Network

Berkley African American Parent Network Our network is a way for African American parents with children in Berkley Schools to connect with each other. WHO CAN JOIN THE BAAPN?

BAPPN is a group of parents who are committed to supporting student engagement, high academic achievement and increased parental involvement with African American students in the Berkley School District WHO WE ARE:
The Berkley African American Parent Network (BAAPN), is a parent run organization that works in partnership with the Berkley School District and Oakland County schools. It takes a vill

age to raise a child and we are strengthening that village. FOCUSED COMMITTEES*:
To address our students needs, we've developed specific committees to assist and engage both parents and students in the educational process. They are:

-PARENT FOCUSED EDUCATION: To provide strategies and resources to parents in order to support their children in academic growth and cultural exposure.

-ACADEMIC: To expose students to knowledgeable/information to develop skills and utilize tools for academic growth leading to success.

-STUDENT ENGAGEMENT: To develop positive relationship with the school community that fosters self worth and establishes a vision for creating short and long term goals.

-CULTURAL OPPORTUNITIES: To provide experiences to parents and students that promote cultural pride and awareness of themselves while exposing them to a multi-cultural global society

-MEMBERSHIP & PARTNERSHIP: To encourage membership and partnership within the district, community and tri-county area.

-COMMUNICATIONS: To develop and create marketing information to promote the Parent Network.

*The BAAPN needs committed parents and individuals to join our committees. If you are interested in helping our Berkley students move forward with their future, please join us today! The network is open to all families who have African American students attending the Berkley school system. Membership is not exclusive to African Americans but is open to anyone who has an interest in volunteering time and supporting the BAAPN mission. HOW DO I JOIN THE BAAPN:
If you are interested in joining, please contact [email protected] for more information regarding the next meeting time.
