International House, UC Berkeley The International House at UC Berkeley is a multicultural residential “living and learning” center of nearly 600 students and scholars from 70+ countries, including the U.S.

International House, also known as I-House, is the premier UC Berkeley campus residence for advanced undergrads, grad students and visiting scholars from the U.S. I-House is conveniently located near the Law and Business schools, Cal's athletic stadium and campus facilities. Nearly 600 international and American students live in the house during the academic year and summer sessions.

I-House was pleased to welcome members of the Norwegian Parliament’s Standing Committee on Education and Research to UC Berkeley
As part of a broader campus visit, the delegation joined I-House Executive Director and CEO Shaun Carver , UC Berkeley faculty and administrators, representatives from BISP Nordic Center and Global Engagement Office and students for lunch and conversation at I-House.
The afternoon continued in the Great Hall with a student meet-and-greet, bringing together the delegation, Berkeley representatives and students for informal conversations around education, research and the international student experience at Berkeley.
The visiting delegation included members of the Norwegian Parliament alongside Royal Norwegian Consulate General in San Francisco Consul General Kirsten Hammelbo, Deputy Consul General Kjell Erik Brekke and other Norwegian representatives.
Bringing people from different countries, institutions and experiences together through conversation and connection has long been at the heart of I-House.

Starting off fall semester with our first two DiversiTea & Coffee Hours: USA & China! 🌎🇺🇸🇨🇳

🇨🇳Our Chinese residents brought the Mid-Autumn Festival to I-House with mooncakes, folklore, Chinese calligraphy, the beautiful sounds of the hulusi!🥮

🇺🇸 From US history showcase highlighting indigenous cultures and traditional textiles to learning about prominent figures and line dancing on Heller Patio, USA DiversiTea celebrated the many sides of US culture!

And we’re just getting started! 🇰🇷🇪🇸🇯🇵South Korea, Spain, and Japan are coming up next. Bring your appetite, curiosity, and best dance moves!
