While passing the lineage to next generation, adapting and surviving through generation after generation, each of us here is the bridge. We train together, meet as strangers and become a family.

If the mastering the technique itself is immature, whatever the muscle is greatly trained, it becomes an unused treasure. On the contrary, if you acquire the skills of maneuvering your body freely, you can generate more power and speed efficiently.
WingChun Movements and Mindsets - WingChun Berkeley
If the life extracts one thing, it’s movement. To live is to keep moving. It takes a lot of courage to liberate yourself from the familiar and seemingly secure environment, to embrace the unknown. This March, we are celebrating the 1 year anniversary of International Academy of WingChun US -HQ/Berkeley under the new leadership with Sihing Tom Richards & Sije Yuka Yoshioka.
Also, the year 2018 is the 20th years anniversary of Sihing Tom Richards and Sihing Carl Hettiger with International Academy of WingChun (IAW). We would like to express a huge gratitude to those two very special WingChun instructors, who have been providing us consistent and tireless efforts, up to this date, to make WingChun available and accessible to us here in the US, especially in the Bay Area.
As of date, many IAW instructors already gave up on teaching the classes in regular bases when they encountered the set-backs, found another interests or priorities. However, Sihing Tom & Carl have been always present, honest, fierce, carrying strong passion to get better themselves, and being the catalyst for us to evolve in training and daily life along with WingChun.
In near future, we will be hosting more monthly events, and special events with our official IAW academy leaders, Sihing Tom Richards of IAW Berkeley and Sihing Carl Hettiger of IAW Santa Cruz. Please stay tuned!
