What help have you called in or made accommodations or concessions for that are not truly helpful?

During this time, I feel it is vital for us each to discern, through our own lived experiences and unique circumstances, the distinction between help founded on codependency and support that’s anchored in interdependence.

It is a good time to reflect during these next two weeks on what we have been both neglecting as well as compensating for in our own inner life, and further, to reflect on where this has been putting pressure on other people to “pick up the slack”, care for, or provide for us?

Since the 6/20 Cancer Solar Eclipse, we have all been processing our own needs, and sometimes navigating the spiritual dimensions of this are challenging given that we inhabit a body that is of this Earth - not above it but rooted on it. This Eclipse cycle is here to test our roots. Soul bonds that have been under the faulty foundation of the “Mother Wound” are being radically re-configured and challenged right now until the 7/4 Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn that may bring more than the usual Fourth of July fireworks in the US.

Since 6/21, Mars has been in the equilux-adjusted, tropical western zodiac (what I call the T.S.Z. “Tropilux Seasonal Zodiac”) sign of Aries. The ‘war drums’ have sounded and we are all finding ourselves more on edge, frustrated, and defensive (or offensive) perhaps than usual and the high levels of stress are taking their toll on the soul. Not only is major tender loving self-care required right now to rejuvenate our Spirit, but to a greater degree than usual, so is healthy self-protection; protecting our own energy, and staying centered in our power, sovereignty, and self-agency is becoming increasingly important. The escalating energetic is one of self-preservation, fending for self, fighting for survival, etc. The “law of the jungle” in which the “strongest survive”, however ‘separatist’, seems to be fitting with the current natural order, and it will be here for the rest of 2020, preparing us for the paradigm-altering Jupiter-Saturn conjunction that will bring a major collective reforms around 12/21/20.

With Mars in Tropilux Aries now, you might have been noticing that people are generally more embattled at this time. It’s like TNT has been lit and it’s only a matter of time till it blows.

The other day while on a hike a noticed a particular distraught and haunted quality to the usual sound of the coyotes off in the distance. They sounded not only restless, but quite furious, and I couldn’t help but feel how they are being affected by humanity’s drive to tamper with the forces of the wild.

Perhaps out of just wounding or mere habit, we have become dependent on the very structures that would keep us weak, squelching our personal liberties. Might this be the time for the vaccine rollout? Or perhaps mounting international tension due to the US-China trade conflict. It seems there’s profit to be gained for the US but also certain leaders who may have a vested interest in domestic self-reliance. Pressure is building, and a lot of us who are sensitive can feel it.

The global situation between the US and China symbolizes a greater shift in consciousness towards self-reliance, which is a huge theme for this lunar cycle. At a personal level, what’s being illuminated now within the collective is codependent behavior patterns founded on insecure attachment between the archetypal mother and the archetypal baby that stifles the child’s growth into mature adulthood and self-reliance.

According to Lisa Aromano, the signs of codependency are as follows:
1) denying one’s own self-care, 2) rescuing others from poor life choice, 3) refusal to address our feelings, 4) catering to others to the neglect of self, 5) saying yes when meaning no, 6) toning myself down because my success will upset those around me, 7) doing for others out of a need to control how others view me, 8) accepting unhappiness as my norm, 9) staying in unhealthy relationships even when my heart wants to move on, 10) being concerned about what others will think of me rather than what I think of me, 11) taking care of others while refusing to take care of myself, 12) having no clue what I think/feel/need and living to cater to others instead of focusing on my own life.

But codependency is the symptom of a larger state of dis-ease for the Spirit, the Mother Wound.

Essentially this stems from our need to be cared for by the archetypal Mother, her need to be needed and the child/dependent’s unconscious or subconscious loyalty to not upset Mom (mirrors one’s own inner child who might feel abandoned if separated from Mom too long). At a deeper level of taking responsibility for this, we may learn that the deeper cause is our need to have Mother need to be needed by us. This unconsciously inclines the child/dependent to compensate for these dynamics by making concessions that would seem to clip the child's own wings in order to avoid causing harm to Mom. In truth, the Mother and child are bonded/tethered/entangled by a profound yet subtly unhealthy (until healing occurs) sympathetic resonance, and the archetypal Mom doesn’t know who she would be if the child truly no longer depended on her. Mother often has to take it upon herself to help in order to feel needed (safe) and so she unwittingly, even if out of love, leads things in such a way as to keep the child weak. She doesn’t mean to, and this is no fault of her own. Further, there’s no sense in beating herself up about it; this is simply biological conditioning and something we all suffer from to an extent, whether this effect is seen or unseen.

Nonetheless, to let the child’s dependency on her go would be to risk losing her identity as a Mother. This could make her feel uneasy, distraught, perhaps even afraid of ‘losing her mind’ or ‘losing her baby’, so she will naturally protect against this and be reticent to accept this as a reality. So the 7/4 Capricorn Lunar Eclipse Moon will invite in necessary boundaries as part of ‘cleaning up’ the Mother wound.

The same dynamic also applies to the dynamic between the healer and the healee, or the helper and the helped. The healer, too, needs to be needed and so keeps the one in need of healing eternally in a state of dependency that would give the healer comfort and identity at a subconscious level (with Cancer, we are always dealing with the realm of the unconscious/subconscious).

All of this is under the unconscious guise of needing to help/heal/care for and therefore disregarding clear boundaries and agreements that might otherwise safeguard such potentially messy and destructive entanglements. Collateral damage is certainly possible.

If we find ourselves quick to deny this energy, I would warmly invite you to consider you may be missing what is more deeply submerged within the psyche and missing the healings that are possible this Cancer season through deeper self-reflection. Capricornian denial is one of the key ways in which we keep our full energetic power from seeing the light of day. And during Cancer season, our hidden patterning and conditioning is wanting to see the light of day.

Mom, or the healer, or the helper *prematurely* clips the fledgling's wings so that it can’t fly out of the nest. This is so Mother doesn’t have to relive the pain of having herself been abandoned as a baby, and so the cycle is perpetuated and passed along from mother to child throughout the lineage. The child, weakened, continues to perpetuate this by staying in Mom’s nest lying helpless (rather than going for its own food and taking care of itself), and thus it outsources its own power which results in the fragmentation of consciousness that divides and fractures the Spirit. It goes without saying that the archetypal mother and archetypal baby is often re-lived and re-experienced within the context of relationships founded on this kind of gnarly dependency, which ultimately doesn’t help anyone from fully forming and maturing. It can be rather painful when you see it for what it is and when you realize the toll it has had in terms of the disintegration of your Spirit.

The Cancer-Capricorn axis highlighted during this lunar cycle is about the polarity between fragmentation and healing (the restoration of a felt sense of inner wellbeing and wholeness whereby all needs are provided for/sourced internally). This is experientially encoded in the Upanishads;

“In the secret cave of the heart, two are seated by life’s fountain. The separate ego (Capricorn’s shadow is seen through ‘divide and conquer’) drinks of the sweet and bitter stuff, liking the sweet, disliking the bitter, while the supreme Self drinks sweet and bitter neither liking this nor disliking that (Cancer’s unconditional embracing, accepting, and healing). The ego gropes in darkness (Capricorn begins cold, dark winter), while the Self lives in light (Cancer begins the warmth and radiance of summer when daylight is maximal in the sky). So declare the illumined sages and the householders who worship the sacred fire (of pure awareness) in the name of the Lord. May we light the fire of Nachiketa that burns out the ego, and enables us to pass from fearful fragmentation (Capricorn shadow) to fearless fullness in the changeless Whole (Cancer virtue).”

The healing process each of us may be experiencing in our own way is about remembering our core power as we recollect who we really are: individualized sparks of Great Spirit who have emerged out of Mother Gaia’s womb of creation.

May we continue to give thanks to the Earth Mother and tend to *her* needs in symbiosis with our own.

Let’s live in gratitude and appreciation for this life we have been given and hold compassion as we are once again rebirthed during this Cancer/Eclipse season.

There’s no doubt that many of us experienced a wave of resistance yesterday morning that shook the ground of our reality with the quarter Moon in Aquarius. Signs that you experienced it are detached feelings, a need for freedom, and a dose of defiance against authoritarian influences.

Then the Moon’s entrance into soulful Pisces last night was like an archaeological dig into our past that carries with it a visionary understanding about the resistances and obstacles that have been preventing us from progressing on our path.

There’s an Astromathematically calculated point I track called the “Ambient Moon”, which since yesterday morning has been in Libra. The sacred message and opportunity of this moment is to make peace with your thoughts while you let go of the dividing lines that have kept you blocked off from humanity, from your brothers and sisters.

Problems now appear to have had amplified and we are being given another glimpse into the Jupiter (now rX)-Pluto applying conjunction in Capricorn that was likely one of the main planetary culprits responsible for magnifying the current COVID crisis, that resulted in greater fear-based attempts to control, through increased recommendations, procedures, and guidelines for greater social isolation. In reality, we are being programmed to disconnect. This abnormal has become the new normal. Distorted attempts at self-preservation.

The question now is how do we address the problems in the world and in our own lives to move the needle forward? The New Moon occurs tonight, 4/22/20 at 7:25 PM pst.

Typically, a Ta**us New Moon is like enjoying a breath of fresh air or the appreciation we feel watching a flower blossom in the midst of Spring.

But on this lunation, we have a cosmic conundrum...

The New Moon and Sun are currently what traditional Hellenistic astrologers call “besieged”.

They are caught between a square (a conflicting aspect) to both of the ‘malefic’ planets - separating from a square to Saturn, and applying to square Mars, both of which are in Aquarius.

The collective feeling is like being frozen or ostracized in a cage (Saturn) and wanting to break free (Mars) from cold, restrictive and hostile forces (Saturn).

Much like Quarantine...

This energy, along with Uranus featured prominently via conjunction with the New Moon is disruptive (Uranus) to the heart chakra (Ta**us).

Since Aquarius governs the root chakra, there is a dissociative quality to this New Moon that is keeping us bound to materiality.

Practically, it is much like having an Aquarian prophetic sense of what the future holds that is keeping us 100% anchored on the ground, yet being unable to take Aquarian flight to the true allure of the heart.

The Aquarian knowing that we have about our life may be making it quite hard for some of us to allow the heart connectivity that this Ta**us (heart) New Moon ruled by Venus in Gemini (principle of connectivity) wants us to invite in.

Allow your heart to open to what you want. It’s okay if you’re not feeling it - whatever it is you want to be feeling...

What this lovely lunation wants us to feel, perhaps, is to sense (Moon) and acknowledge (Sun) the disconnection from our heart, to take responsibility for, and challenge it through the Taurean art of Aquarius detachment (in Yoga, Vairāgya, or DISPASSION).

The heart chakra is not meant to be powered by PASSION. It is meant to be powered by love (Venus), care (Moon), and respect (Saturn) for our collective karma.

The Aquarius energy at the root chakra creates a degree of nervous tension with the resonant/harmonic frequency that the heart is requesting of us, perhaps harshly.

..To embody (Ta**us New Moon/1st chakra) the subtle frequency of love that is sacredly protected by the Divine Feminine (the Venusian side of Ta**us), the Mother Goddess/Gaia (the lunar side of Ta**us), and held under natural law (the Saturnine side of Ta**us).

The revolution (Uranus) that is beckoning us and featuring prominently on this New Moon is one of PEACE, BALANCE, and HARMONY.

Neither extremely focused on “enlightenment” nor on “embodiment”. There is a middle way, and this is the way of ENHEARTENMENT.

Our revolution is about unifying at a time when the cold, energetic climate of disruption would incline us to fragment (Saturn) and segregate (Mars) from the rest of humanity (Aquarius).

Any New Moon symbolically reveals a potent initiation.

Like an acorn, it has ENORMOUS POTENTIAL to become something much bigger, usually on the subsequent Full Moon and on the Full Moon 6 months later.

In this case, a seed is being planted that is likely to blossom for those who are most strongly affected by this New Moon on May 7 and on October 31 (Halloween).

Now is NOT the time to pretend to know what the turn of events will be, BUT TO FIND PEACE AND STILLNESS WITH WHAT IS.

In fact, the Aquarian influence of this lunation would incline us to want to know more about how we are or humanity is to progress (Aquarius) from this collective cage (Saturn in Aquarius) that we are stuck in.

But the Ta**us New Moon...SHE asks us for PRESENCE.

To listen within.

To feel into our own bodies (Ta**us) not for the answers but for the sensible questions (Gemini Venus).

We do not need to force. That was last month’s Aries lunation cycle.

Nor do we need to resist (though I will admit, there are strong planetary forces that are guiding us to resist that are likely demolishing the peace that is available to us when we find Taurean stillness in the Geminian movement.

We are advised to stay in motion but from a point of peace and acceptance.

Actualize from that place.

Do not try to fight (Mars) your own nature, rhythms, or conditioned patterns.

Simply question them. Get curious.

Allow the Ta**us New Moon to calmly speak through you.

Then you are ready to originate your intentions for the next 2 weeks and 6 months, to give birth to your real desires of the heart.

This New Moon carries a strong feeling of Mother (Ta**us) trying to conceive (New Moon) a child.

Science (Aquarius) says let’s do a c-section.

But this is the way of force and labor that only evokes more resistance.

We are not to force the baby but to welcome and invite it, with trumpets and bugles sounded.

Mama will go into labor when her own inner nature and rhythm says she is ready.

Don’t f**k with mama, otherwise, you will upset the proverbial Taurean Bull.

Right now, Father Sky (Uranus aka Ouranos) must stay PRESENT, and at this moment, follow the wishes of his precious mate, Gaia (Mother Earth), as Uranus is in her Taurean terrain until June 2025.

We’ve got a few years to embody the lesson:

“Slow and steady is the way forward”, just like Ta**us.

The natural order can't be rushed.

Again, our revolution is about ENHEARTENMENT.

And the progress of humanity currently demands that we return to the gentle, loving wisdom of the Divine Feminine, Mother Earth, and nature’s intelligent design.
