Veritas Graduate Christian Fellowship is an interdenominational campus ministry affiliated with InterVarsity and UC Berkeley.

We are a dynamic and diverse group of primarily Christian graduate students, post-docs and young professionals. Our purpose in coming together is to learn more about God and the Christian faith together as we journey throughout this phase of our lives. We are always excited about welcoming new members (and those who have been away for awhile) and we hope to see you at one of our events real soon!

Systemic Evil in Genesis 47:13-27 | Friday, April 23, 2021 | 6:00pm PDT
Everyone knows the story of Joseph and his coat of many colors - but do you remember the part where Joseph reduces the population of Egypt to slavery, in an attempt to save their lives? This passage shows us good intentions gone wrong, and prompts reflection on the connection between institutional power, economics, and evil. It thus sheds biblical light on the debate about the existence and nature of systemic evil. Let’s explore it together!

Jamie Duguid is a PhD student in the Semitic and Egyptian Languages and Literatures at the Catholic University of America, and a pastoral intern in the Presbyterian Church in America.
