We work with teachers to strengthen their instructional practice.

Through customized programming, our facilitators engage teachers in explicit planning for academic literacy and discipline specific thinking. The mission of the UC Berkeley History-Social Science Project (UCBHSSP), one of the California Subject Matter Projects, is to improve student academic literacy and achievement in history-social science through ongoing professional development, workshops, and institutes for K-12 teachers.
