John Muir Elementary School

John Muir is the smallest of the 11 public elementary schools in Berkeley.

It was built in 1916 and, in the 2019-2020 school year, served approximately 315 children from K to 5th grade. John Muir Elementary School promotes academic excellence, community building, diversity and love of nature. It has a gifted teaching staff and administration, motivated and talented students and involved parents.

FREE HALLOWEEN COSTUME giveaway this weekend 👻

Hi John Muir families - We’ve done a huge PTA closet clean-out just in time for Halloween, and have set out HUNDREDS of FREE, NEW costumes & accessories in front of the school for families to claim this weekend.

There are costumes available in all sizes and themes! Any remaining costumes will be donated on Monday afternoon.

We just ask that you keep the racks organized and tidy to make it easy for everyone to “shop”.
