IT'S OFFICIAL!

We are pleased to announce that CalSol raised $71,075.82 from a record breaking 1,119 unique donors during our 2026 Big Give Campaign, making it the most successful Big Give in team history.

We also podiumed in 8 of 11 Big Give matches and contests, with $34,000 of our total coming from prize funding.

This was all made possible by you 🫵. Thank you to our donors, alumni, faculty, and team members who made this possible.

We're ready to take this momentum forward as we prepare to race 1,500+ miles across the country in the American Solar Challenge!

CalSol is a team of undergraduate students who design, build, test, and race fully solar-powered vehicles at an international level, all while innovating and raising awareness of clean energy technology. It was founded in 1990 with its first student-built vehicle, California Dreamin’. Since then we have designed and built nine more vehicles, claiming multiple awards and demonstrating strong performance. This year, we are racing our finest vehicle yet, Excalibur, and creating our next generation 11th vehicle. Your support helps our mission to push the boundaries of sustainable technology and empower the next generation of engineers! This past weekend, the team took Excalibur out on the highway as we continue preparing for the 2026 American Solar Challenge.

In late July, we will take on a 1,500 to 2,000 mile endurance race across the country. Every mile of testing helps us prepare for the unknowns we will face along the way.

To keep running tests like this, we need your support during UC Berkeley’s 24 hour fundraising event, Big Give.

Mark your calendars. Big Give begins on Wednesday, March 11 at 9 PM PST and ends on Thursday, March 12 at 9 PM PST.

In addition to the donations we raise, the university will award $15,000 to the student organization with the most unique donors, so every contribution makes a difference.
