CS KickStart

CS KickStart aims to introduce women to computer science and build a supportive community CS KickStart is a one week introductory program to computer science.

Students learn how to program, meet computer science students and professionals, and are introduced to different areas of computer science. This program targets incoming students to UC Berkeley who are curious about computer science and are interested in math, science or engineering. Students do not need to have any prior skills in programming. Our goal is to give them a hands-on experience in programming and to show them the creativity and power of computer science.

We are extremely sad to share that one of our CSK family, Rachael Deng, passed away recently. Her memorial service will take place tomorrow starting at 11:45 AM and will be livestreamed from Vancouver. Please see the message from the funeral home below.

We are saddened to hear the news of the passing of Rachael Deng, a member of our CS Kickstart family. Rachael was a friend to many and touched those who had the pleasure of meeting her. For those of you who are grieving or want to show your support, there is a memorial in her honor tomorrow May 6th, 4-5 pm PST.
