"Today, I am able to manage resources more accurately, using the tools that were provided in the construction management certificate."

Three years after sharing his story with us, Alex Guidici has grown from a relatively new project manager into a construction professional trusted to lead projects from start to finish. Since completing our construction management certificate, he has taken on greater autonomy, developed deeper relationships with clients and has become responsible not only for schedules and resources, but also for the financial health and overall success of the projects under his care.

Today, Alex manages complex radiology and MRI construction projects at Cameron Builders that help advance health care throughout the Bay Area. As his responsibilities have expanded, so has his perspective on leadership, communication and professional growth.

When Paola Mazzocchi moved from Italy to California in 2023, she wasn't just starting a new chapter geographically; she was reimagining her career. After spending more than a decade in the music industry, Paola wanted to build new technical skills that would help her break into one of today's fastest-growing fields.

That decision led her to our Data Analysis certificate through which she gained the analytical foundation that helped launch her first U.S. role as a content analyst. Today, she's continuing to build a career in AI data and analytics.

Having successfully transitioned from music publishing into data analysis, Paola hopes others won't let an unconventional background discourage them.

Tiffany McBride serves as associate director of buildings for the University of California Office of the President, where she oversees facilities operations, maintenance, engineering, emergency preparedness and operational strategy for the Oakland campus. As her responsibilities grew, she realized experience alone wasn't enough.

"I decided to change careers while being a wife and mom; moving between countries and states; and trying to understand retirement planning, taxes, estate documents and stock compensation."

For Ana Lin, being able to go back to school provided her with an opportunity to enjoy life today without being irresponsible about tomorrow. She was trying to enter a new profession while wondering if she was qualified enough. Transitioning her career from a practicing medical doctor to financial planning was made possible by the UC Berkeley Extension Professional Program in Personal Financial Planning.
