As part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, on October 7th, please join BRAIV for a Q&A discussion with Professor Aya Gruber, Law Professor at University of Colorado Law School and recent author of The Feminist War on Crime: The Unexpected Role of Women’s Liberation in Mass Incarceration.
Professor Gruber’s book analyzes how feminists, in their quest to secure women’s protection from domestic violence and s*xual violence, became soldiers in the war on crime and contributors to mass incarceration. We will be discussing how feminists, activists, and lawmakers can oppose gender-based violence without reinforcing the American prison state.
