Recently honored with the Maryam Mirzakhani New Frontiers Prize for her groundbreaking work in Brill-Noether theory and the geometry of the moduli space of curves, Professor Larson is an Assistant Professor and Clay Research Fellow (2022-2027) in UC Berkeley's Department of Mathematics.

Join us next week as the College of Letters and Science hosts a virtual event starting at 5pm on Wednesday, April 5th, as part of their "Basic Science Lights the Way" series called "Mathematics that Matter." This event will feature members of the Math faculty including Prof. Per-Olof Persson, Prof. Olga Holtz, and Morrey Visiting Assistant Professor Krutika Tawri. We are excited to share the news that Assistant Professor Michael Lindsey is the recipient of the 2022 John Todd Award “for his outstanding contributions in the intersection of numerical analysis, applied analysis, statistical physics and quantum physics.” Congratulations, Michael!

Congratulations to the Department of Mathematics' Assistant Professor Yunqing Tang on being selected to receive a 2023 Sloan Research Fellowship. Professor Tang joins five other 2023 Sloan Research Fellowship recipients from UC Berkeley to make up the largest number of fellows this year from any one public university.
