Last evening, we had a great time at the 2023 Berkeley Japan Prize Award Ceremony with internationally acclaimed composer, Toshio Hosokawa. His award acceptance speech was truly inspiring. After the acceptance speech, renowned master koto player and multi-instrumentalist Kyoko Kawamura played Hosokawa’s “koto-uta”. This was followed by a conversation with Ken Ueno, Professor of the Music of Department at UCB. Ken also moderated the Q & A session with the audience towards the end of the event. For the Japanese Press release of the award ceremony, please see below. https://nordot.app/989445088281198592
