Özge Hacıfazlıoğlu, Rebecca Cheung, and Chunyan Yang. The book features contributions from alums and members of the Berkeley School of Education (BSE) community, highlighting powerful narratives and research-driven insights from teachers, school leaders, and system-level changemakers demonstrating how resilience can be cultivated through intentional leadership, community care, and equity-centered practices. The book event will include a panel with the co-editors and moderated by BSE Dean Michelle Young, followed by breakout presentations led by chapter authors. Earlier this month, the UC Berkeley Educational Leadership Learning Accelerator welcomed Angela Gatti and Helen Peart, two elementary school principals from Tasmania, Australia, as part of our customizable Accelerator for Visiting Education Leaders program.

During their visit, Angela and Helen spoke with a wide range of leaders and researchers at Berkeley and school sites throughout the region, exploring their central inquiry question: How do we create school cultures that enable strong and positive family partnerships to support school readiness and ongoing family engagement?
