KingBriefs 3/21: Open House 3/24, Friends of King Update, & 8th Grade Dance Date Set
Hi, King Families:
By now you should have received our last Friends of King mailing of the year - and if you haven't already donated, please use this opportunity to participate in our community and show that we're united in supporting all of the many vital student programs we have at King.
We have been running several thousand dollars behind in donations this year, so now is your time to donate! Your contribution to King, beyond being tax-deductible, could hardly provide more return on investment!
There are several ways to make your contribution. The recent mailing includes a remittance envelope, so you can write your check, slap a stamp on the envelope and mail it in to our office at 1781 Rose Street, Berkeley, CA 94703.
You can also donate via http://www.mlkmiddleschool.org/friends-of-king/, the Friends of King page on our King website, or you can visit https://squareup.com/market/mlkpta, our Square donation site.
Thanks very much for your contribution to Friends of King!

King Open House Thursday Night, March 24th!
The annual springtime King Open House will take place this Thursday evening, March 24th. Come visit your child's classroom and see what they've been up to, hear the band perform, get the latest scoop from Principal Levenson, and welcome next year's incoming sixth grade families.
To make the transition from work easier, the King PTA Hospitality Team will be selling pizza and organic salad (for a very modest price!) starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Courtyard.
The King Symphonic Band will be setting the mood in the auditorium after dinner, which will be followed by remarks from Principal Janet Levenson.
And... we have late word that orders for 2016 Yearbooks and King Cobra spirit wear will be available for purchase outside the auditorium, guaranteed to keep your mind current and your look fashion-forward. The yearbook orders are still $33, with the price set to go up a bit in mid-April, so lock in your discount Thursday night! Yearbook coordinator Jacob Dalton tells me this year's document will come in at a full 80 pages, in living color. Payments may be made by cash or check, made out to King Middle School.
Students are welcome if accompanied and supervised by parent/guardian. You may visit any classes in the school but be sure to visit your student's classrooms.
It should be a lovely night! Come enjoy dinner, music, your students' work, and each other's company next Thursday evening.

Thanks, everyone...
