One week down, a thousand more memories to make!
In our first week of school, we saw CURIOSITY in students eager to discover, COURAGE in those trying something new, COMPASSION for our youngest learners who took their first steps into school, and COMMUNITY on campus.
We love having our students back on campus and eager to take on the 2026-2027 school year!

While students enjoyed the last days of summer, our EB teachers were hard at work: completing first aid and safety certifications, training on this year’s academic programs, welcoming new faculty members, and getting every classroom ready. Take a look at what happens before the first day — and help us welcome everyone back to École Bilingue de Berkeley! 🎒✨

Thanks to a Spring Soirée auction item, Dahlia got to be Head of School for the Day! When asked what changes she wanted to make, her immediate answer was: “More recess!” Congratulations to Dahlia on a fantastic day in her special role. We loved seeing her confidence, enthusiasm, and leadership shine.
++++++++

On Friday, we celebrated our annual Spring Showcase, where students shared performances, presentations, and exhibits inspired by this year’s theme, “Biodiversity & Community”. Students and teachers worked endlessly to make this event happen and it was absolutely amazing!
Also a special thank you to Elodie and Emily, our wonderful French and English coordinators. Their incredible support helped everyone bring the Spring Showcase to life and guided the creation of a beautiful collective art piece, titled "A Living Chain," representing the strength of our community and our shared hope for the future of biodiversity. We couldn't have done it without their dedication!

Discipline doesn’t have to be a daily power struggle. At EB, our approach to positive discipline starts with one powerful idea: children do better when they feel better.

📍 In Episode 3 of the EB Podcast, Magali Noth (Head of Primary) and Sarah “Sparks” Parks-Urbano (Lower School Counselor) explore why connection comes before correction—at school and at home. They discuss belonging, emotional safety, and what children really need in order to learn, grow, and cooperate.

G5 students spent this past week in Québec immersing themselves in the culture, history, and adventure of the region! From museums and maple shacks to circus arts workshops, shopping in Old Québec, and even outdoor survival activities in the rain, students made unforgettable memories throughout the trip.
