Our G5 students took a trip to San Francisco for a scavenger hunt!
Working in small groups, they traveled on foot from the Ferry Building to Pier 39, discovering new places and learning about the city along the way⛴️

At EB, we love giving students opportunities like this to put their curiosity into practice, work together, and experience things firsthand. Because sometimes, the best way to learn is to get out there and explore for yourself!

Did you know EB Middle School students regularly visit the Lower School to help younger students with homework, reading, games, workshops, and other activities in French?

Through the Lower School Mentorship Exploration, middle schoolers put « Les grands accompagnent les petits ! » (“The big ones accompany the little ones”) into practice.
Along the way, they grow their confidence in French, strengthen their self-esteem, prepare for the DELF exams, and strengthen connections across our EB community!

There’s nothing like bringing our community together!

This past Sunday, World Celebrations brought us together to share food, stories, and friendship, and celebrate the many cultures and paths that brought us all to EB.
It was a beautiful reminder of what makes EB so special —a community where different cultures and experiences come together and everyone has a place.

Some people shape the future one lesson, one language, and one student at a time. Today, we celebrate them!

To our incredible teachers at EB:
Thank you for the passion, creativity, and care you bring to our students every day. You nurture their curiosity, challenge them to think in new ways, and give them the confidence to find their voice in two languages and across cultures.
But what you teach goes far beyond academics. You help children learn to listen, take risks, embrace different perspectives, and understand that they belong in the world and have a role to play in shaping it. This is not easy every day!
Thank you for inspiring our students to become curious, compassionate, and courageous learners, and for making EB such a special place to learn and grow.

This week, COURAGE means taking on challenges!
Our G3–G8 students took on MAP testing this week, giving them a chance to show what they know and tackle what challenges them.

MAP tests are given twice a year to measure student achievement and growth and help our teachers individualize instruction to meet the needs of our students.

What does compassion look like at EB?

In honor of the UN’s International Day of Peace on September 21, we celebrated EB’s Week of Peace! Across campus, students reflected on peace, kindness, and the ways we can care for one another —creating Peace Passports, reading and sharing stories about kindness, and even adding hopes, wishes, drawings, and kind acts to our EB Kindness Tree.

Sometimes bilingual immersion looks—and tastes—delicious!
In the Accelerated French Program (AFP), students who join EB with limited or no prior French experience learn in small groups with dedicated French teachers and are immersed in French throughout their school day.
They create, collaborate, and experience French in meaningful ways that turn the language from something they study into something they live.
It’s one of the many ways AFP helps students build confidence in French on their multilingual journey.

CURIOSITY in action!
Our G6 students practiced what it means to think like scientists in last week’s Crater Lab. They made predictions, set up their investigation, observed what happened, measured their results, recorded data, and looked for patterns to help make sense of what they saw.
There’s something pretty special about seeing curiosity turn into discovery.
