To the homeschooling parents here in Morgan County, I want to say something directly to you.

I respect the decision you have made for your children. My wife and I homeschooled for a period of time ourselves, so I understand the level of commitment, time, and care that goes into it.

As a candidate for the Board of Education, my goal is not to interfere with homeschooling families. My goal is to strengthen our public schools so they are academically strong, transparent, and focused on real results.

That means improving reading literacy, strengthening math skills, identifying students who need help earlier, and making sure our schools are focused on measurable outcomes.

When our schools are doing those things well, families will not feel limited in their choices. Instead, they will feel confident that Morgan County public schools are a place where their children can succeed.

My hope is that we build schools so strong that families choose them because they trust the results and the education their children will receive.

Every student. Every day. Building our future.

Policy Week – Friday

This week I laid out five policies that I would support as a member of the Morgan County Board of Education. I chose to do this because voters deserve more than campaign slogans. They deserve to know exactly what a candidate plans to work on.

The focus is simple.

We need stronger reading literacy.
We need better math performance.
We need earlier intervention when students fall behind.
We need clear academic benchmarks and regular progress reviews.
And we need to make sure our resources are supporting programs that actually produce results.

Morgan County has dedicated teachers, hardworking students, and families who care deeply about education. With clear priorities and consistent leadership, we can continue moving our schools forward.

My goal is straightforward: every student leaving Morgan County schools should be able to read confidently, solve problems in math, and think through challenges they will face in life.

I appreciate everyone who has followed along this week and shared their thoughts.

Now I’d like to hear from you.

What is one thing you believe would make Morgan County schools stronger?

Every student. Every day. Building our future.

Policy Week – Thursday

Strong priorities should guide how we allocate resources.

If elected, I would support an annual board-level review of how district resources align with our academic goals, especially in reading and math.

This means:

• Reviewing whether programs are producing measurable academic progress
• Examining intervention effectiveness
• Ensuring funding decisions support student outcomes
• Adjusting strategies when results are not meeting expectations

This is not about cutting programs for the sake of cutting. It is about responsible oversight. If a program is backed by evidence and producing results for students, it should be supported. If it is not delivering measurable improvement, we have a responsibility to evaluate and adjust.

Good stewardship means aligning resources with results.

Tomorrow I will outline the final policy for this week.

Every student. Every day. Building our future.

Policy Week – Wednesday

Improvement starts with clarity.

If elected, I would support regular public review of reading and math performance trends so families and the community can clearly understand where we are and where we need to improve.

This would include:

• Grade-level reading and math proficiency trends
• Progress tracked over time
• Clear explanation of academic benchmarks
• Updates on how intervention strategies are performing

This is not about blame or adding extra work for teachers. It is about ensuring the Board of Education is reviewing consistent, understandable data so decisions are guided by evidence.

When we can see progress clearly, we can adjust strategies responsibly.

Transparency builds trust.

Tomorrow I will outline the next policy.

Every student. Every day. Building our future.

Policy Week – Tuesday

Yesterday I talked about measuring early-grade reading progress. Today I want to talk about what happens when a student begins to fall behind.

If elected, I would support a clear early intervention policy that ensures when a student falls below grade-level benchmarks in reading or math, action is taken quickly.

That means:

• Timely parent notification
• A documented support plan
• Follow-up progress checks within the grading period

No student should struggle quietly for months without a plan in place.

Early intervention is not about labeling students. It is about prevention and support. The goal is simple: identify challenges early, respond quickly, and adjust if the strategy is not working.

Strong foundations in reading and math change long-term outcomes.

Tomorrow I will outline the next policy.

Every student. Every day. Building our future.

Policy Week—Monday
If we are serious about improving reading performance in Morgan County, we must be serious about measuring it.

Too many students struggle in the early grades, and once a child falls behind in reading, catching up becomes much harder. Strong reading skills in kindergarten through third grade are the foundation for success in every subject that follows.

If elected, I would vote to ensure the Board of Education receives and publicly reviews quarterly reports on early-grade reading progress. That includes clear grade-level benchmarks and updates on how intervention strategies are performing.

This is not about adding paperwork for teachers. It is about using the data we already collect to ensure our systems are working and students are getting the support they need early.

What gets measured gets improved.

Tomorrow I will outline the next policy.

Every student. Every day. Building our future.

Good afternoon and happy Sunday.

I wanted to let everyone know that this week will be Policy Week for my campaign. Each day, Monday through Friday, I will lay out one specific policy I would support as a member of the Morgan County Board of Education.

I’ll explain what the policy is, why it matters, and how it helps improve reading literacy, math performance, transparency, and student readiness.

My goal is to be clear and specific about where I stand. Voters deserve more than general statements. They deserve solutions.

I look forward to sharing more with you this week.

Every student. Every day. Building our future.

My Qualifications and Why I’m Running

Morgan County deserves honest leadership and measurable results. Here is exactly what I bring to the table.

• Morgan County Since 2006
I moved here in sixth grade and have lived, worked, and built my life here ever since. This community gave me opportunity. I intend to protect that opportunity for the next generation.

• I Understand What Stability Means
Education changes outcomes. I know that personally. Strong schools are not optional. They are foundational.

• Parent-Focused Leadership
Parents should not be the last to know what is happening in their child’s education. Transparency is not negotiable.

• Accountability and Results
In my professional career, performance is measured. Problems are addressed. Excuses are not accepted. That same mindset should apply to academic performance in our schools.

• The Literacy Problem Is Real
For years, Morgan County has struggled in reading performance. That is not political. It is documented. We cannot keep calling slow improvement “good enough.”

• Clear Priorities
Reading literacy first.
Math proficiency strengthened.
Early intervention when students fall behind.
Real preparation for college, trades, military, or workforce.

• Community Rebuilt
Schools should work with families and local businesses. Mentorships, internships, and real-world preparation must be part of the plan.

• Nonpartisan and Focused
This race is not about party politics. It is about whether our students can read, think, and graduate prepared.

If you want steady leadership that is willing to confront hard data, raise expectations, and insist on measurable progress, I ask for your vote.

Every student. Every day. Building our future.

I just picked up my first 10 campaign signs today and one is already out in the county.

If you’d like a sign for your yard, please send me a PM and I’ll get one to you. If you want to help me get more signs across Morgan County, I would also greatly appreciate a small donation toward printing additional ones.
