Another international excursion in the books! High school students from our Bronxville campus just spent a week in Iceland, taking in the sites and immersing themselves the culture. We couldn’t be more in awe of their ability to embody our core values of saying yes, learning to learn anything, and exploring the interconnectedness of everything.
A huge thank you to our faculty and staff who made this week possible 🧡💙

Move over, CSI—our Cloud students are on the case! 🕵️♂️🔍
Cloud students in Friday’s Tools of the Forensic Scientists class engaged in an at-home fingerprinting lab! Students made fingerprinting stations with paper, pencil shavings, clear tape, and scissors, fingerprinted themselves, and determined the category for each print.

🌲 Surviving, Thriving, and Leveling Up! 🌲
What happens when you take the classic survival novel "Hatchet" and bring it to life? Our Grades 5-7 students on our Berkeley Heights campus just found out!
🛶 From the Page to the Pines
The journey began with a Wilderness Workshop led by Zach Fisher of Volpes Wild Arts, where students mastered the fundamental skills of survival. They then headed to Camp Dark Waters, where our young explorers put their knowledge to work!
By connecting literature to real-world challenges, our students develop critical thinking, resilience, and a deep sense of understanding. They aren't just memorizing facts—they are building the "mental toolbox" they'll use for the rest of their lives.
Bonus! Watching these students support one another through every brave moment while outside their comfort zones reminded us why our community is so special.

Digging into the past! 🦴✨ Our 3rd and 4th-grade explorers on our Cloud campus got their hands (virtually) dirty this week! They took a deep dive into the world of paleontology to create their very own fossils.
But it wasn’t just about the cool imprints—our FlexSchoolers have been decoding the secrets hidden beneath our feet! By studying fossil evidence, our students are learning how to read Earth’s history and understand the massive events that have shaped our planet’s layers over millions of years 🌎🌋
How cool is this custom Pangaea puzzle?!
This project demonstrates how geologists can use environmental conditions, geography, and the distribution of life forms to determine the position of continents.
Putting together the puzzle helps students with the concepts of continental drift and ancient ecology 🧩🎉🦕

This just in: FlexSchool Bronxville turns summary writing into a breaking news event 📰 When our 5th graders needed to practice summarizing articles, they turned the classroom into a live newsroom!
While leaning into their love of role-playing, presenting, and performing, creating their own news reports also allowed them to work on mastering:
1️⃣ Summarization: Condensing complex stories into punchy, engaging segments.
2️⃣ Executive Functioning: Managing scripts, timing, and production flow.
3️⃣ Collaboration: Working as a team to bring the “broadcast” to life.
