🔥 NEW PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT 🔥
Decoding the Thermal Environment: Tactical Thermography for the Fire Service
Thermal imaging cameras have become a standard tool on today’s fireground, but getting the most out of a TIC requires more than simply carrying one.
This program is designed to help firefighters better understand the science behind thermal imaging and how it applies to fireground operations. We’ll explore heat transfer, thermal signatures, image interpretation, common misconceptions, limitations of thermal imaging technology, and how to use that information to support tactical decision-making.
This is not a thermography certification course, and it’s not a deep dive into thermology. Instead, it’s a practical, firefighter-focused program that bridges the gap between camera operation and understanding what your TIC is actually showing you. The program is developed and delivered by a Level 1 Certified Thermographer, ensuring the material is grounded in both thermography principles and real-world fire service application.
Available through Division Command Training for fire departments, fire academies, conferences, and training organizations.

Last night, Division Command Training was at the Scotch Plains Fire Department delivering our Division Supervisor Program.
Thank you to Chief Lestarchick, the command staff, officers, and firefighters of Scotch Plains for the opportunity. We had a great turnout and an engaged group from start to finish. Scotch Plains is always top tier when it comes to professionalism, participation, and commitment to training.
Thank you again for having me, and I look forward to coming back for future classes.

Today, I had the opportunity to offer my Division Supervisor program for the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety and Kean Fire Safety at the Middlesex County Fire Academy.
Even though it was a smaller group, the members in attendance were highly engaged and contributed to some outstanding discussion throughout the program. It’s refreshing to see fire service leaders give up part of a Saturday to pursue training aimed at improving operations, leadership, and the fire service as a whole.
Thank you to everyone who came out, participated, and contributed to the conversation today. Your willingness to learn, share experiences, and challenge ideas is what continues to move the fire service forward.

Great seeing Andy Starnes from at the Fire Department Instructors Conference last week.
Andy is a true gentleman and someone who had a major impact on my path in thermology. His leadership and mentorship pushed me to attend Western Kentucky University’s Tactical Firefighting Thermology Program, and ultimately take it a step further with my Level I Thermography certification down in Charleston, SC.
I know I’m not the only one he’s influenced, friends like and from along with many others can say the same.
Andy’s the real deal. Grateful to know him, learn from him, and call him a friend.
