Learning beyond the classroom!

Our CTE Food Systems and Natural Resources students toured North Eden Farms in Ironwood, exploring its strawberry and pumpkin operation and learning about soil health and regenerative agriculture.

A big thank-you to Tyson for welcoming our students, sharing his knowledge, and gifting each student a beautiful pumpkin from the patch!

After almost two years of dedicated training and volunteer work, Greta has officially earned her AKC Therapy Dog™ title, a recognition for dogs and owners who volunteer together in places like schools, hospitals, and nursing homes to improve the lives of others, from helping a child learn to read to visiting a senior in assisted living. In addition to her therapy dog work, Greta was separately trained and certified as a service dog. . Service dogs have full public access rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), allowing them to go almost anywhere the general public is allowed, even in places with strict "no pets" policies. Congratulations to Greta on this well-earned milestone!

As we kick off the 2026–27 school year, we are proud to celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of our CTE students from 2025–2026 school year!

Last year, 157 students—approximately 50% of our juniors and seniors—participated in eight CTE programs. Together, they:

🔹 Completed 620 work-based learning experiences
🔹 Earned 149 industry-recognized credentials
🔹 Gained valuable career awareness, exploration, preparation, and on-the-job training
🔹 Earned college credit through our partnership with Gogebic Community College, including 26 Automotive students who earned at least six college credits

These achievements were made possible through the dedication of our students, instructors, school districts, community partners, employers, and Gogebic Community College.

We look forward to building on this success and providing even more opportunities for students to develop real-world skills, explore career pathways, and prepare for their futures.
