We took the kiddos to the pumpkin patch over fall break!

This is one of our families favorite fall tradition.

We played on the equipment, pet the farm animals and went through the corn maze 🌽

After, we grabbed dinner at Steak n Shake and I realized something that shocked me pretty good…

Steak N shake was my first job, when I was 16 years old…. THAT WAS 20 YEARS AGO!!!

Today is the first day of October?! What better way to celebrate than with a new free Halloween crochet pattern?

I just released this festive Halloween Car Charm as a free crochet pattern on my blog. It has a spooky witch hat on one side and a darling jack o lantern on the other.

You can hang them on a car mirror, a door k**b or even use them to hold back curtains!

I was making some pin images of my spooky Fidget Fish today and ended up having a little photo shoot! I had to share some of the pictures because I thought they turned out SO cute. 💀🐟🎃

My backdrop was just a big piece of orange fabric from my sewing stash. I set out a few crocheted pumpkins, a handful of candy corn from Dollar Tree, a couple disco ball Christmas ornaments, and a skeleton from Dollar Tree.

And of course I had to use my skeleton hands. 😂 I got these a couple years ago and I LOVE them.

But I think what I was most excited about was that THE PHOTOS DIDN’T TURN OUT BLUE. 🙌 It seems like no matter what I’m photographing lately, everything ends up with a weird blue tone and it’s been driving me nuts.

Maybe orange fabric is the secret? 😂

Either way, I think these pictures are absolutely darling. I might even print one out and put it on my Halloween shelfie lol.

Taking good photos doesn’t have to be expensive or stressful. Lay out some stuff you already have, grab your iPhone, and start shooting. You might be surprised what you come up with! 🧡

It’s officially crochet pumpkin season! 🎃🧶

I love coming up with new ideas for stems to go on my pumpkins!

For the first pumpkin, I used a single wooden bead for the stem. Then I stacked two beads together on the second one for a slightly different look. Such a simple detail, but I can’t decide which one I like better! 😍

Which stem would you choose… one bead or two?

My Fidget Fish got a spooky little makeover! 💀🐟🎃

I turned my original Fidget Fish into Skeleton Fidget Fish AND Candy Corn Fidget Fish just in time for Halloween!

And the best part? You don’t need a new pattern! 🙌

The skeleton fish use the exact same pattern with puff paint bones added at the end, and the candy corn version just needs a few simple color changes.

I put all the details on the blog, including the exact candy corn color changes and how I created the little skeleton bones!

These would be SO fun for Halloween markets, boo baskets, classroom parties, or even as a non-candy Halloween treat. 🖤
