A Ca****la Camp, a summer vocal music program that specializes in a ca****la singing, was founded in 2013 in Cleveland, OH by director Reginald Bowens, a native of Cleveland. A Ca****la Camp is a summer intensive for teenagers interested in having a career in vocal music, especially in the area genres of pop, jazz, and gospel. While building character, self-discipline and musicianship, campers eng
age in ensemble singing, private coaching, songwriting, jazz theory, professional networking, recording arts, and more. Plus, a ca****la music is great in training vocalists to be independent from instrumental accompaniment! Over the years, A Ca****la Camp has been fortunate to be featured on 19 Action News with an interview segment on Romona’s Kid’s; News Channel 5’s Kaleidoscope with Leon Bibb; Fox 8 News’ “Kickin’ It With Kenny”, and several radio stations in the Greater Cleveland region. Recently, A Ca****la Camp was featured on Janis Siegel and Lauren Kinhan’s Vocal Gumbo (New York), and on Emerge Gallery and Art Center’s African American Music Series (North Carolina). Each year, the campers work with accomplished musicians in the industry to further inspire them as they move closer to their career goals. Past camp clinicians and speakers include: Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men, Dr. Cedric Dent and Alvin Chea of Take 6, Kim Nazarian of the New York Voices, Jamond McCoy of m-Pact, Christie Dashiell of Afro-Blue from NBC’s 3rd Season of “The Sing-Off”, and Season 7 Winner Geoffrey Golden of BET’s Sunday Best. In 2016, campers also had the pleasure of a LIVE Video Q & A with three-time, Grammy Award-winning a ca****la group Pentatonix! Space is limited each year, so be sure to reserve spots early!
