We are currently accepting application for Grades K-12 for the 2026-27 school year. Thaden School is an independent school located in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas. The school’s mission is to provide a balanced and challenging education that ignites in its students a passion for discovery and learning, prepares them to succeed in college, and inspires them to lead lives of integrity, purpose, and

responsible global citizenship. With an average class size of 15 students, Thaden offers an interdisciplinary curriculum; programs for civic engagement; creative and performing arts; athletics; and an innovative and sustainable campus with indoor and outdoor teaching spaces. The school’s indexed tuition program makes the cost of a Thaden education affordable for all families in Northwest Arkansas. The school is named in honor of Iris Louise McPhetridge Thaden (1905-1979), a Bentonville native and one of the greatest aviators of her time.

Today, we opened the doors to a new chapter.

Our Lower School families gathered for Meet the Teacher and the ribbon cutting of our new Lower School—a space designed for students in kindergarten through Grade 4 to learn, create, connect, and move easily between their classrooms and our 2-acre backyard with a natural playground.

The building is ready. Now, our students will make it their own. Tomorrow, we welcome students K through 12 for the first time!

There is something powerful about making music alongside others! 🎻🎼

The Thaden Community Youth Orchestra brings young musicians from across Northwest Arkansas (open to the public) together to rehearse, perform, and grow as an ensemble. Students build technical skill, listen closely to one another, and experience what can happen when many individual parts become one shared sound.

There is one more opportunity for in-person auditions. Join us on August 22 at the Performing Arts Center. We are also accepting auditions by video! Register using the link below and email Paulina Behler @thadenschool.org with video auditions and questions!

We welcomed new and returning Lower School faculty and staff back to campus this week! They spent the week preparing classrooms, connecting with colleagues, and laying the groundwork for the learning and relationships that will shape the year ahead. On Wednesday, we also welcomed our new Middle and Upper School faculty and staff.

While in Washington, D.C., for a Conflict Resolution Youth Summit at George Mason University, Thaden students Bella F. and Jesse C. toured the U.S. Capitol and were surprised to discover that their tour guide was Thaden alum Cooper Neal '24!

The Thaden Community Youth Orchestra brings together talented young musicians from across Northwest Arkansas to learn, perform, and grow together. TCYO welcomes string, woodwind, brass, and percussion players of all experience levels.

Rehearsals are held Mondays at 5:30 pm in the Thaden Performing Arts Center.

Auditions will be held August 15 and August 22.

Students with two or more years of playing experience are encouraged to audition for the Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Younger or less experienced musicians are invited to join the Prelude Ensemble.
