At Central Park, we are BIG believers in Focus 5!

These strategies help us build cooperative, collaborative, and creative classrooms while giving students tools to be ready for learning.

In these pictures, you may spot Actor’s Toolbox in action! Students use it to begin their day or as a “reset button” to reconnect and refresh with a calm body, focused mind, and balanced emotions.

You may also see our Concentration Circle, which reinforces that concentration is a skill that can be strengthened with practice. As students build their focus and attention, they are better prepared to stay engaged, challenge themselves, and reach their full potential.

We love watching our Gators put these skills into action! 💚

✨THE WAIT IS OVER… OUR HOUSES ARE OFFICIAL!✨

Today was one for the books at Central Park! Our Gators officially became members of one of our six Houses, and the excitement, cheering, smiles, and school spirit were UNMATCHED!

Our House System is all about building connections, creating a sense of belonging, and bringing our school family even closer together. No matter which House we represent, we are always GATORS!

Learning to Be Problem Solvers!

Students in Mrs. Benson's class practiced what it looks and sounds like to solve conflicts with peers using our Conflict Resolution Time Machine Mat, a Conscious Discipline tool. Students worked together to model, discuss, and practice different ways to navigate conflict respectfully.

Students focused on cooperation, listening, willingness to talk things through, as well as using our resources and sentence stems to communicate our feelings and needs.

They are learning that conflicts are opportunities to practice being problem solvers—and that we can work together to find solutions! 🌟

Check out Mrs. Wrona's class practicing at their centers!
While we have many learning goals to help students become good learners, we also have learning goals to help become good students. The students understood the learning goal and worked hard to use their whisper voice as they practiced at each center, cleaned up when they heard the bell, and walked to their next center quickly.
Mrs. Wrona is so proud of their hard work, sharing, and great listening!

Our kindergarteners are bringing nursery rhymes to life! Their learning is active and engaging as they use movement, expression, and their voices to explore different nursery rhymes! Along the way, they’re building important storytelling skills like identifying characters and setting and retelling the beginning, middle, and end. We love seeing our littlest Gators learning in action!
