Art and music and film and theatre - humanities is a class that allows you to not only see connections but to create through a hands on approach to learning!

Austin (‘24), an Honors Program Graduate (with Distinction), shares that “honors courses encourage a level of thought and engagement beyond normal expectations, helping students to build an environment and breadth of knowledge that helps them excel in their personal, academic, and professional lives. The courses that I took while I was a member of the honors program helped me develop a better understanding of various fields as they relate to my own interests.” Austin will continue to challenge himself at the University of Arkansas in the fall!

Kelly, an Honors Program Graduate (with Distinction), was awarded an AS, LAS (STEM) Magna Cum Laude at commencement today. Her photo shares her love of the Honors Program and of NWACC as she blows a kiss to her instructors! She says, “I think being in honors has elevated my confidence in myself to see my full potential as a leader. It is ultimately what led me to change my major from engineering to organizational management and leadership.” This is the degree she will earn at the University of Arkansas in the fall.

An Honors Program Graduate (with Distinction), Yullyana was awarded an AS, LAS (Global Studies), an AS, LAS (non-STEM), and an AA, all Magna Cum Laude at commencement today! She says she will miss the honors community: “The thing about Honors is, there’s no cookie cutter ‘ideal’ student for the Program. There are people from all different backgrounds with different skills that allow you to understand how other people work….you can catch all honors students in the Hub working together on homework and sharing networking contacts as we meet them along the way.” We can’t wait to see what you do next at the University of Arkansas!

Mason earned his AS, LAS (STEM) Cum Laude and was recognized as an Honors Program Graduate (with Distinction) at NWACC’s 34th Commencement! He stated, “The goal of Honors is not necessarily about studying harder and trying to advance academically, but it is also about the connections you make with those around you, and the new experiences you don’t get from anywhere else.” We wish you the best at the University of Arkansas - we know you’ll succeed!

Honors Program Graduate Kelsie earned her AS, LAS (non-STEM) Cum Laude, her AA, and a Technical Certificate Pre-Health Care Studies! She shared how being part of the Program helped her realize something important that she wanted in her education: “My honors classes challenged me in a way I did not know I wanted to be challenged.” We hope the Harding University is ready!

Jasmine, an Honors Program Graduate (with Distinction), graduated Summa Cum Laude and was awarded her AS, LAS (STEM) and AA degrees today! She says about her experience in the Honors Program, “They [honors instructors] were ready to give you their time, listen to your questions and concerns, and I do not regret taking any of their classes; I only wish I could have taken more.” Good luck as you head out West to pursue a bachelor’s degree!
