🍎 We were pleased to welcome Representative Denise Garner for Arkansas to Casa Castillo’s newest location this first week of school. She toured the center and then spoke with our leadership team about the joys and challenges of Early Childhood Education in Northwest Arkansas. It is so refreshing to speak to a politician who GETS IT. Who cares. 🫶

Unfortunately, politics is SLOW. - and we have A LOT of ground to make up after the decisions Arkansas made in the past year have set us back into the dark ages. Arkansas was a national leader for Early Childhood support, systems, quality, and funding for families and programs. Now other states are using us as the example of what NOT to do!!

THOUSANDS of qualified, low-income children are on the waitlist for subsidized childcare. Our economy is struggling more as more parents are forced out of the workforce due to lack of childcare. More and more unlicensed, unmonitored babysitters are popping up charging a fraction of the price because they aren’t following minimum licensing standards or ratios. The cost of living and inflation is surging and high quality programs are going under because they can’t keep up.

Representative Gardner reminded us all to keep reaching out to our elected officials about the issues and concerns we are facing, because they depend on us to know how things REALLY are and what is needed.

Meet Ms. Stephanie!

We’re excited to introduce Ms. Stephanie, one of our amazing Pre-K teachers at our Centerton location in the Búhos classroom! Originally from Costa Rica, she has over 10 years of experience working with young children and has been a valued part of the Casa Castillo family for the past 3 years.

Ms. Stephanie loves creating warm, welcoming classrooms where children feel safe to explore, learn, and grow. From hands-on sensory activities and exciting science experiments to celebrating every new milestone, she finds so much joy in helping her students build confidence and discover the world around them.

What she loves most about Casa Castillo is the supportive team environment and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families every day. We’re so thankful for her passion, dedication, and the love she brings to our school.
