The Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is to empower individuals, families and youth with limited resources to acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes and behavior changes necessary to maintain nutritionally sound diets and increase physical activity. Our goals:
EFNEP uses a holistic nutritional educational approach. Clients will experience improvements in four core areas:
• Diet quality and physical activity
• Food resource management

• Food security

Who is eligible for EFNEP? Individuals who are eligible for assistance programs such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), WIC, Head Start or their children participate in the school breakfast/lunch program are also eligible for EFNEP. Arkansas EFNEP Audiences: Adults and Youth:
The adults are taught in small groups or individually by trained EFNEP educators. The majority of participants complete the program in 4 to 6 weeks. Youth programming focuses on providing food and nutrition education to contribute to personal development of youth from families with limited resources. EFNEP provides food and nutrition education for limited resource audiences in 18 counties in Arkansas. What does it cost? Where are lessons located? The programs are free, informal, and available virtually or in-person at convenient locations and times. The instructors live in your county and deliver intensive, multi-session nutrition lessons.
