Hi, my name is Bethany Hutcheson! My passion for softball began when I was just six years old, starting with coach pitch. From that moment on, the game became an important part of my life and continues to be something I am deeply passionate about today.

I graduated from Woodlawn High School in 2019 with plans to continue my softball career at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic changed those plans. I made the decision to begin working full-time while transitioning to online classes, but my love for softball never faded.

Over the past several years, I’ve had the opportunity to help coach 14U spring and fall league teams, as well as provide individual instruction during and between seasons. Although I wasn’t able to pursue the college softball career I had originally envisioned, I found another way to continue competing through slow-pitch softball. I began playing recreational slow-pitch approximately three years ago and currently compete on a Women’s D slow-pitch softball team ranked among the top 10 teams in Arkansas.

I’m excited for the opportunity to work with young ladies and help them develop both on and off the field. I offer pitching and fielding lessons with an emphasis on strong fundamentals, proper mechanics, consistency, and overall player development. My goal, however, extends beyond teaching softball skills. I want to help young ladies build confidence, develop a strong and positive mindset, learn the value of hard work, and strengthen their love for the game.

I look forward to sharing my passion, knowledge, and experience while helping develop the next generation of confident softball players!

Her training focuses on speed, agility, balance, coordination, and movement mechanics to help athletes become quicker, more explosive, and more confident on the field.

Softball Batting & Fielding Clinic August 6th

30-Minute Skill Rotation Format

Take your game to the next level with our Softball Batting & Fielding Clinic! Players will rotate through two focused 30-minute training sessions designed to maximize reps, improve fundamentals, and build confidence.

🥎 Batting Rotation (30 Minutes)
Instructor Gracie Redmon
Players will receive instruction on:

Proper stance and setup
Swing mechanics and bat path
Hand-eye coordination drills
Contact consistency
Power development
Tee work and front toss
Live hitting progression
Situational hitting

🥎 Fielding Rotation (30 Minutes)
Instructor Aubree Goodnight
Players will work on:

Proper ready position
Footwork and first-step quickness
Ground ball fundamentals
Glove work and hand positioning
Throwing mechanics
Infield and outfield techniques
Game-speed fielding drills
Communication and confidence

🥎 NEW INSTRUCTOR ALERT! 🥎
Please help us welcome Aubree Goodnight to the Central Arkansas Softball Academy!

We are excited to introduce Aubree Goodnight, a former collegiate softball player who brings years of competitive experience, a passion for teaching, and a desire to help young athletes reach their full potential.

Aubree is a graduate of Benton High School, where she was a key contributor to two undefeated State Championship teams. She continued her softball career at National Park College, excelling both offensively and defensively while playing right and left field.

During her two seasons at National Park College, Aubree compiled a .366 career batting average while posting an outstanding .985 career fielding percentage. As a sophomore, she played flawless defense with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, proving herself to be a dependable outfielder.

She went on to compete at the NCAA Division II level for the University of Arkansas at Monticello, where she continued to make an impact both at the plate and in the field. Aubree finished her collegiate career with a .294 batting average and a .979 fielding percentage, serving primarily as a designated hitter while also playing both left and right field when called upon.

As a left-handed hitter, Aubree offers instruction in both traditional hitting and slapping techniques. Having originally learned to hit right-handed before transitioning to the left side as a young athlete, she understands the mechanics and challenges of both approaches. Defensively, her expertise is in the outfield, but she also has knowledge of the infield and enjoys helping athletes become more complete softball players.

Beyond the field, Aubree earned her Associate Degree in General Studies from National Park College before completing her Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems with an emphasis in Cybersecurity and a minor in Business at UAM. She currently works as a Computer Technician for the North Little Rock School District.

When she's not working or coaching, Aubree enjoys spending time with friends and her beloved puppy, Coco. Most importantly, she is passionate about giving back to the game that has given her so much.

Please join us in welcoming Janie Grimes to the Central Arkansas Softball Academy!

Janie is an Arkansas Softball Hall of Famer with more than 30 years of fastpitch coaching and instruction experience. Her coaching career includes 13 years at the NCAA Division I and Division II collegiate levels and 20 years leading the highly successful Cole Minnows organization, where she helped develop countless athletes into elite competitors.

Throughout her career, Janie has trained many of Arkansas' top pitchers across all age groups. Her athletes have competed on the ASA/USA National stage, helped lead 5A, 6A, and 7A high school programs to 10 state championships, and earned numerous Division I and Division II softball scholarships. Her proven track record speaks for itself.

Janie's coaching philosophy is built on faith in God, proper mechanics, strong fundamentals, goal setting, and a relentless work ethic. She believes in developing complete athletes through strength and conditioning, sound mechanics, mental toughness, and individualized instruction.

Committed to continued growth as a coach, Janie regularly attends advanced training clinics and has learned from some of the nation's top pitching instructors, including coaches from Alabama, Texas, Michigan, Arizona, and Tennessee, along with USA Softball Olympic Gold Medalists Michelle Smith, Amanda Freed, and Monica Abbott. Alongside her husband, she has also led numerous camps and clinics, bringing decades of knowledge and experience to every athlete she coaches.

A graduate of Lonoke High School and the University of Central Arkansas, where she was a member of the cheerleading squad, Janie is also a proud wife, mother of three daughters, and grandmother to six grandchildren.

Take your athlete’s game to the next level with an action-packed 3-hour field clinic designed to build confidence, sharpen fundamentals, and develop game-ready skills in every aspect of defense and base running.

Throughout the clinic, athletes will receive hands-on instruction covering:
