🎉 Ward’s Winners are ROARing! 🐾

We are so proud of these three HP scholars for showing what it means to ROAR! They have been especially ON TASK as they work hard and give their best effort on their beginning-of-the-year math screeners. ➕✏️📚

At Howard Perrin, we ROAR by being:
🐾 Respectful
🐾 On Task
🐾 Aware
🐾 Responsible

Way to start the year strong and set a great example for others! Keep ROARing, Panthers! ❤️🐾

🏀❤️ A Panther Welcome to Start the Day! ❤️🐾

A HUGE thank you to Coach Hendrix and the Benton High School basketball players for spending their morning with us at HP! They helped open car doors, greeted our scholars with smiles, and brought some extra Panther spirit to our morning arrival! 🐾

Our students loved seeing these awesome role models welcoming them to school and helping them start their day on such a positive note.

We are so thankful to be part of a community that shows up for one another. Once a Panther, always a Panther! ❤️🏀

Thank you, Coach Hendrix and BHS Basketball, for making our morning extra special!

📚 Library Adventures at HP! 🔎

Our 3rd and 4th graders kicked off the year with a fun Library Scavenger Hunt! Students worked independently or teamed up with classmates to find 10 different locations throughout the library.

It was a great way to refresh their memories, practice navigating the library independently, and get ready for a year full of reading, learning, and discovering! 📖🌱

We love seeing our Panthers GROW as confident library users!

HP families - This is just a reminder about lunch visitors. As posted earlier on the Things to Know post, please wait until after Labor Day, the week of September 8th, to join your child for lunch. We know you are excited to visit with your child, but we are still working on learning the routines of the cafeteria and the expectations of growing up to a new grade level. We can't wait to see you September 8th!

The first few days of Mrs. Jackson's 4th grade classes have been filled with learning, encouragement, teamwork, and plenty of smiles! Her classes have been supporting one another, cheering each other on, and creating a classroom community where everyone feels encouraged to learn and grow as they are introduced to Personal Narratives.

Mrs. Jackson is so proud of the way students have been willing to work together, take risks, encourage their classmates, and embrace 4th Grade!

It is going to be an incredible year of LEARNING, GROWING, and SUPPORTING one another!

🥜 THE ANNUAL SALT BOWL PEANUT BUTTER DRIVE IS BACK!

🏆It’s Benton vs. Bryant AND campus vs. campus as we kick off one of our favorite Salt Bowl traditions!

Beginning Monday, August 24, families, staff, businesses, and community members are invited to donate jars of peanut butter. The drive will continue through September 30 in recognition of Hunger Action Month.

And yes... bragging rights are on the line! 👀 The Benton campus collecting the most peanut butter will take home the coveted Peanut Butter Trophy! 🏆🥜

But the real win is what happens after the competition. ❤️ Every jar collected directly benefits Benton students. Your donations will be used to support students at HP and/or families across the district through our Bright Futures Benton.

🥜 August 24 – September 30
🏆 Drop of your jars in the boxes on the stage in the cafeteria
❤️ Every jar stays right here to help Benton students

Fill the shelves. Feed our Panthers. Let’s see what Benton can do!

🎉 Mrs. Baldwin’s class is off to a fantastic start! 🎉

These Panthers have jumped into the new school year ready to learn, grow, and connect!

📚 Students added their first vocabulary word to their notebooks, while Good Things gave them a chance to practice conversational skills and share something positive in their lives. 💬❤️

☀️ And when the Arkansas heat said “Absolutely not!” to outdoor recess, the fun moved inside! 😅

From learning and communicating to building a positive classroom community, Mrs. Baldwin’s class is already living out our District's Core Values of Safety, Growth, Excellence, and Preparation! 🐾❤️

Our First Positive Office Referral of the Year!

At Howard Perrin, getting sent to the office can be a GREAT thing! ❤️

Through our Positive Office Referral program, teachers can recognize students who are ROARing by being Respectful, On Task, Aware, and Responsible. When a student receives a Positive Office Referral, they get to:

⭐ Visit the office to be celebrated
📸 Have their picture taken for social media (with parent approval)
📜 Receive a Positive Office Referral certificate
🎁 Choose something from the treasure chest
📞 And best of all… receive a positive phone call home!

We absolutely LOVE making those phone calls and getting to share with families the wonderful things their children are doing at school!

And we are so excited to celebrate our FIRST Positive Office Referral of the year! 🎉 One of our sweet kindergarteners was recognized for being Respectful and On Task!

Her teacher shared:

“She is the best listener on the learning carpet! She is always being respectful to her teacher and friends!”

What a wonderful way to start the year! 🥰

Way to ROAR! 🦁❤️ We can’t wait to see who earns our next Positive Office Referral!

✂️ First Friday in Ms. Barton’s Class! 💕

We spent our first Friday practicing some very important first-grade skills! Students worked on their fine motor skills by carefully cutting strips of paper and gluing them together to create a fun craft featuring their names. ✂️🖍️

While creating, we reviewed how to safely and properly use classroom materials, follow directions, and take pride in our work. These simple activities help build the skills students need to become more independent and confident learners.

This activity connects to our district’s core commitments in so many ways:
🛡️ Safety: Learning to use scissors and classroom materials safely.
🌱 Growth: Strengthening fine motor skills and building independence.
⭐ Excellence: Taking our time and doing our best work.
📚 Preparation: Practicing classroom routines and skills we’ll use throughout the school year.

A great first Friday in Ms. Barton’s Class full of learning, growing, and getting ready for an amazing year! 💗✂️📚

🚗 Morning Drop-Off Reminder! 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️
Please take a moment to watch our quick video reviewing morning drop-off procedures. Whether you're new to our campus or just need a refresher, following these procedures helps keep our line moving smoothly and everyone safe.

🟢 One more important reminder: As you EXIT the parking lot, please STOP and check the green and white crosswalk before pulling out. We have students who walk to school in the mornings and may be coming down the sidewalk toward this crosswalk.

Please stop, look for students, and then proceed when it is safe. A few extra seconds can make a big difference in keeping our students safe.

Thank you for your patience, attention, and help making morning arrival safe for everyone! 💚
