We are excited to welcome Mrs. Addison Weiny to the Kelly family!

Mrs. Weiny’s journey has been shaped by a passion for helping others, both on and off the court. She began her college career at Iowa Wesleyan University, where she played collegiate volleyball for two years. Her experience as a student-athlete helped develop a strong appreciation for resilience, teamwork, perseverance, and the importance of supporting others.

Mrs. Weiny later earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Missouri State University and spent two years coaching club volleyball. Through coaching, she had the opportunity to help young athletes build confidence while developing both as players and as individuals.

Her academic, athletic, and professional experiences strengthened her interest in understanding people and the factors that influence mental health and well-being. That passion led Mrs. Weiny to pursue a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University. Her experiences in sports, coaching, and counseling have reinforced a core belief that people are capable of incredible growth when they feel supported, understood, and empowered.

Outside of her professional life, Mrs. Weiny is a proud parent of two children, with another little one expected in January! Her experiences as a parent have further strengthened her appreciation for empathy, resilience, and meaningful connections.

Mrs. Weiny is excited to use her experiences and counseling training to support others as they navigate challenges, grow, and become the best versions of themselves.

🎉🦅 **THE FIRST DAY IS ALMOST HERE, HAWK NATION!** 🦅🎉

We are excited to welcome our students back on **Monday, August 24th!Our faculty and staff have worked hard to prepare, and we cannot wait to see our hallways filled with students again as we begin an outstanding 2026-2027 school year!

📹 **Parents, please take a few minutes to watch the first-day videos** for important information about our **parent drop-off and pick-up lines.** Following these procedures will help us keep traffic moving safely and efficiently, especially during the first few days of school.

🚗 **Important First-Day Reminder:** Parents will **not be able to park and walk students into the school buildings on the first day.Please use the designated drop-off areas and follow the directions in the videos and from staff members on campus.

🚌 We also ask everyone to **please be patient with our bus drivers and bus routes during the first few days of school.** Routes and arrival times may take a little longer as drivers help students learn their stops and everyone settles into the new routine. Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated!

🎉 WELCOME TO HAWK NATION! 🎉

Please join us in welcoming another great addition to the Kelly team! Ms. Haylee Quatmann will be joining us as a 2nd Grade Teacher and will also serve as an Assistant Volleyball Coach for both our high school and middle school programs. 🏐📚

Her journey to Kelly has already come full circle. She earned both her Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees while playing volleyball on scholarship before transferring to Southeast Missouri State University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.

Even more special, she completed three of her four education blocks right here at Kelly, allowing her to learn alongside our students and staff before officially becoming a member of the team!

Outside of the classroom and gym, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to the lake, and reading.

We are excited to have her back at Kelly and can’t wait to see the impact she makes with our students and athletes. Welcome to the Kelly family! 💛❤️

6th Grade Orientation begins at **6:00 p.m.** and 9th Grade Orientation begins at **6:30 p.m.**

Parking is available in front of the buildings and on the student/senior parking side. Enter using the road entrance going to the football field. Please enter the buildings through the main entrances.

🦅 WELCOME BACK HOME, KEATON FITZGERALD! 🦅

We are excited to welcome Keaton Fitzgerald to the faculty at Thomas W. Kelly High School!

Keaton is no stranger to Hawk Nation. He attended Thomas W. Kelly from second grade through graduation, graduating with the Class of 2021. After high school, Keaton continued his education and football career at Central Methodist University and Missouri Valley College, graduating from Missouri Valley in 2025.

Keaton joins Kelly High School as a high school teacher while also serving as the Defensive Coordinator for Kelly Football and Assistant High School Wrestling Coach.

In addition to his work at Kelly, Keaton is a certified personal trainer and runs sports performance classes for athletes throughout Southeast Missouri, helping young athletes improve their strength, speed, agility, and overall athletic performance.

Outside of school, Keaton enjoys spending time with his wife and friends, fishing, and working out.

There is always something special about seeing a former Hawk return home to give back to the school and community that helped shape him. We are proud to have Keaton back at Thomas W. Kelly High School and look forward to the impact he will make on our students and athletes!

Dear Hawk Nation,

Welcome back! The excitement of a new school year is here, and we cannot wait to welcome our students and families back to school! Our classrooms are ready, our faculty and staff are eager to begin, and we are looking forward to an outstanding 2026-2027 school year filled with learning, growth, new opportunities, and plenty of Hawk pride. The first day of school is Monday, August 24th, and we are excited to begin another great year together!

Elementary Open House will be held Wednesday, August 19th, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., with the Title I meeting for all elementary parents at 6:00 p.m. in the elementary gym. Open House for grades 6th -12th will be held Thursday, August 20th, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sixth-grade orientation will begin at 6:00 p.m., and ninth-grade orientation will begin at 6:30 p.m. We strongly encourage families to bring and drop off student school supplies during Open House.

Parking will be limited during the first semester because of ongoing construction and campus improvements. Elementary families should refer to the elementary open house video for parking and entrance directions, and all families should review the parent drop-off and pick-up videos for the correct procedures. Parent drop-off will begin at 7:15 a.m. Because parking is limited, parents will not be able to park and walk students to their classrooms on the first day of school. Please allow extra time, follow posted signs and staff directions, and use caution when entering and leaving campus. Your cooperation will help keep traffic moving and ensure a safe arrival and dismissal for everyone.

Breakfast is $0.60 for all students. Lunch is $2.60 for elementary students and $2.85 for middle school and high school students.

The 2026-2027 master school calendar is available on the district website. Please review it throughout the year for important dates, school breaks, and scheduled events.

Please take time to read the student handbook for your student's school. The handbook contains important information about school procedures, expectations, attendance, discipline, and other policies that will help your family prepare for a successful school year.

Kelly will use the new district communication app, Rooms, to help families stay connected with teachers, classrooms, teams, clubs, and the district. We will send additional information soon explaining how to join and use Rooms. Please watch for those instructions and complete the setup when they arrive.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we begin the school year, especially while parking is limited. We are proud to serve the students and families of Kelly Schools and are looking forward to a safe, positive, and successful 2026-2027 school year.
