Did you know students can receive healthcare services right at school through our C.A.T.S. Telehealth Program?

Polk County Schools partners with Ocoee Regional Health Corporation/Benton Family Health Care Center to connect students with a nurse practitioner through secure telehealth technology. This program can help students receive timely care while reducing time away from the classroom.

🩺 Services may include care for:
• Coughs, colds & flu
• Seasonal allergies
• Pink eye
• Earaches & sore throats
• Skin rashes & impetigo
• Nausea, vomiting & diarrhea
• Urinary tract infections
• Lice
• Other common acute illnesses

🧪 Available testing includes:
• Strep
• Flu
• Urine analysis

💊 When appropriate, the provider can also electronically send medication to the pharmacy selected by the parent.

There is NO cost to students.

Parents must opt in for their child to participate. Enrollment forms are available from your school nurse. Parents are encouraged to attend appointments but are not required to be present; parents will always be notified before scheduling and during the appointment.

🚌 School Bus Safety Reminder 🛑

As our students travel to and from school each day, we’re asking everyone in our community to help keep them safe.

When a school bus is stopped with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, STOP and stay stopped. Children may be entering or crossing the roadway, and a few extra seconds of patience can prevent a tragedy.

Remember:
• On a two-lane road, traffic in both directions must stop.
• On a multi-lane road without a physical median, traffic in all lanes must stop.
• On a divided highway with a physical median, traffic traveling in the same direction as the bus must stop.
• Remain stopped until the bus begins moving, the driver signals you to proceed, or the red lights stop flashing.

👀 Stay alert. Slow down. Never drive distracted around a school bus.
