Notes to Live By Bringing music education to all! You are never too old or too young to begin your musical adventure! Hi! My name is Rebecca Curry and I LOVE music!

I believe that you are never too old or too young to begin an intentional journey with music. Not only can we all benefit from music lessons, we were designed to be musical! I began taking piano lessons at age 7, violin at age 9, and viola in high school. Over the years I have been blessed with an astounding number of opportunities directly related to my music education and involvement. I have had

solo opportunities with international gospel groups, been a part of recording three CDs, gotten to perform for Vice Presidents, and toured internationally several times. As a music teacher, I have had a front row seat to seeing children’s faces light up when they have had “Ah-ha!” moments in their lessons and something we have been working on finally makes perfect sense to them. I have gotten to support and encourage them in every little success along the way as they prove to themselves that they CAN do it! Regardless of whether my students are age 2 or 82, teacher is such an exciting role for me to get to play in someone’s life! My training background includes Suzuki, Musikgarten, and a variety of other curricula, opportunities, and musical interests.

For all the skeptics out there who doubt the importance of listening and repetition in music education: Can you sing a commercial jingle from TV or the radio? One from your childhood?.

I'm sitting here watching a Silly Songs with Larry marathon with my littles and am able to sing along with every single song despite not having heard them in at least a decade.

THAT is the power of your brain on music!
