Thatā€™s a wrap! If I could copy and paste this last semester over and over again forever I would! This group ate up everything I threw at them and went full steam ā€˜til the end. Here are the final submissions of our last project. Iā€™m going to miss these faces a lot. Thank you for being so wonderful. Have a great summer break, yā€™all! See you in August.

The semester is drawing to a close but we are not stopping. The kids are working on their final project now but I had to show yā€™all what we did just before. We discussed synesthesia, Vassily Kandinsky, Abstract Expressionism, and how colors and lines can convey emotions without using recognizable figures to do so (no hearts for love or smiley faces for happiness).
The students were tasked with choosing 14 emotions to interpret and express and I am so excited to share with you their results! This project was a work in color and line that has served them well while working on their final project.

Okay, my procrastination leads to me posting a bunch all at once. Last post of the evening, I promise! I couldnā€™t log off until I showed you Vala Vā€™s nail art. She created every design you see below. Look at the details in her work. She seriously needs to start her own business! Iā€™m so impressed.

This group is so special to me. We had such a fun and educational day at the Dallas Museum of Art last week. The kids got to see several of the works from our curriculum while competing in a scavenger hunt. The winning team won a pair of socks from the gift shop. We hit up the food trucks for lunch in the park before heading home. I look forward to this trip every year and am so grateful that I get to share it with Martha-Claire Lepore from PHS and Jamie Hill from AHS.
