On Friday, our 4th graders celebrated with a culminating activity for CKLA Unit 2.

They held their 3rd annual jousting tournament!! Marcelo from the land of Diaz was our crowned champion. 🏰🗡️

In third grade Ms.Chapin’s class, the students are celebrating the end of their Unit 2: Animal Classification.

The students brought in snacks that represent the vertebrate animal kingdoms. They came to school prepared to be zoologists and observe a fictional character to see if they could classify the character.

Once they observed the character and took studious notes, they drew the character and labeled the physical evidence that matched their kingdom of choice. They also wrote 2 to 3 sentences supporting their answer. This was a culmination activity to prove how much they’ve grown as zoologists.

Benton School District will be closed October 16–20 for Fall Break.
We hope our students, staff, and families enjoy a well-deserved break filled with rest, fun, and a little extra time together! 🐾

📚Celebrating Dyslexia Awareness Day!❤️

Today, in recognition of Dyslexia Awareness Day, we want our families to know that we are here as a resource and a partner in supporting your student.

We have put together a collection of dyslexia-focused books that families are welcome to check out and read at home. Whether you are learning more about dyslexia, looking for ways to better understand your child’s experience, or simply want to explore helpful resources together, we hope these books can be a useful support.

We also have books available in our school library for your students to read on this subject.

We are grateful to partner with you as you encourage and support your student. Please reach out if you would like to check out a book or if there are other resources that would be helpful to your family. 💛📖
