Students interested in pursuing a career in education joined me at Murray State University’s Educators Rising Conference. This yearly event gives students an opportunity to attend sessions about becoming a teacher and learn more about going to college. 👩🏼‍🏫

Today MCTC Family and Consumer Sciences students Abby Howell and Madilynn Ingles participated in the 2022 KY FCS University in Hardinsburg, KY.

KY FCSU is a one day program for juniors and seniors interested in pursuing a career in Family and Consumer Sciences Education. Students networked with FCS students from across the state; FCS program professors and college students from EKU, WKU, and Murray State; current FCS teachers; and the FCS and FCCLA coordinators for the KY Department of Education to learn about what it’s like to be a FCS teacher and FCCLA advisor.

I am pleased to announce that today I accepted the 2022 Region 1 KY FCS Teacher Rockstar award at the KATFCS meeting in Louisville today. Teaching Family and Consumer Sciences and advising the Marshall County Chapter of the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America has been an absolute honor and I love helping students be their best selves in their families, workplaces, and communities. I am looking forward to another great year at MCTC!
