Same pattern (almost), same loom, same number of warp threads, same size beads, same number of beads yet not the same size. Why? I used two different style of beads (seed beads vs delicas).

This issue can be either terribly frustrating or terribly freeing when you make things. It's why you are asked to knit a test swatch or do a sample with your materials first. It s much more important if you are knitting a sweater than on this project .

Know when you need to be very detail oriented and save yourself frustration. And don't give up if it doesn't work out the first time. I ripped out beads twice before I was happy with the beginning of the bottom band and I have done this pattern before! Eddie has absolutely no patience with beading!

I love books. I don't love ebooks. Yes, they are the same stories. The feel of a book, the weight, the smell of the ink and paper, physically turning pages for me can not be replaced with an electronic device.

Eddie is more of an audio book kinda monkey.

However you enjoy getting a story is the best way!

The National Corvette Museum made headlines in 2014 when a sinkhole opened up under exhibit space and 8 cars fell approx 30' down. As you can see, many were not restorable. Eddie loved the manhole that goes down (monkeys are agile little creatures and a 30 ft ladder is nothing. 2 of 4 humans with Eddie that day disagreed!). Most of the sinkhole was filled in, stabilized and the exhibit space reconstructed.

Eddie is a well travelled monkey. He lives in PA and has been to WV, NY, OH, MI and now KY. Travelling is great for education (even if the reason for the trip was someone was ill). It naturally brings up all sorts of questions.

And Eddie luvz museums. He got to go to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY for the first time.

Eddie is looking forward to going to more museums and learning more things when the world gets better.

Weaving #4

My day job gets in the way sometimes. I finally got around to hemming some of the towels last night. I even got them washed and dried, so I could see how the patterm looks as a finished product.

Every towel has the same color warp (natural white). The colors were woven in - sometimes randomly and sometimes planned. What I do with my feet (treadling) determines the pattern. I love working with long warps because you can play around with both pattern and color. 9 more to hem! And I need to tie the warp back on the loom so I can finish weaving.

I started this project back on Oct 5th (winding the spools). Like any large project, allowing yourself plenty of time and breaking it down into manageable bites is important. There is no way I could leave this until last moment and be ok. Students think they can but...
