Austin TX Police Dept is the latest to be hit by the removal of funding. This has caused the Dept to be short staffed. They do not even meet the minimum number of officers to staff a shift. They have decided to not respond to non-emergencies. This includes theft of property, burglary of a home,residence or business. This will further increase crime and leave citizens to protect themselves.
