We had an art and creation week. We built towers from popsicle sticks and cups, made spinners, did a flower experiment, and had a giant end of year review. I can’t believe that Tuesday is our last day!!!

There isn’t anything quite like camping and the outdoors, so that’s what we did this week! We discussed the importance of keeping our world clean and not littering, while taking a “camping trip”. However we had to earn our camping materials by reviewing everything we have learned this year ( they made a human pattern, see if you can figure out what it is). They must have learned something because they got a tent, sleeping bags, fire and s’mores 🙂 We also explored light more and talked about how we can block light to create shadows. We finished with songs around the camp fire.

I can’t believe we are t minus 2 weeks to the end of preschool !! How did time go so fast! We are cramming in as much learning fun as possible in our last few sessions. This week we learned about simple machines. We learned that we use simple machines all the time. We used scissors to cut, and made a catapult. We also explored high and low sounds in music, played number bingo, learned the letter w and the number 15.

This week we discovered that animals live in habitats, and that they need a certain habitat to live. We went on a virtual zoo field trip, read many books and built a habitat for our unicorns! We also did number puzzles and learned the letter w.

04/25/2022

This week we finished exploring movement. We made kites and experimented with what made them move. Wind was really helpful but running fast was even better. Heavy things made them not fly. We also painted, learned the song “Oats, Peas, Beans”. We explored instruments and learned the symbol and meaning for quiet and loud in music. Our plant experiment is also getting interesting… the plants next to the light are 3 in tall. The ones away from the light have hardly sprouted.

We started our units on seeds and plants this week! We planted flowers and Pumpkim Jack! Hopefully our pumpkin will come full circle with the plant life style….. he was looking pretty rough! We also started an experiment to see how sunlight effects plants growth. We planted our seeds and placed them in different areas around the room, anywhere from lots of light to no light. We will keep you posted on how they grow! We finished with an education Easter egg hunt involving a huge review of everything we have learned!

We got to finally go on a field trip!!! Covid had really put a damper on the last year and a half as far as field trips were concerned but restrictions were finally lifted and we went to the fire station! The kids LOVED it! Huge thank you to the Logan fire department they were so great with the kids and did an amazing job of teaching on their level! They were impressive.

Pajama parties and St. Patrick’s day gold! How could life at school get any better?? We did a leprechaun scavenger hunt, took a walk outside to find signs of spring, did a rain cloud experiment, practiced using our scissors by cutting grass to find a caterpillar, and make lucky patterns with luck charms! We even got to feed some bunnies the right amount of carrots:)

We took a dive into the ocean this week. We learned about different sea animals, fished for numbers to feed our shark, caught some tuna fish so we could measure and weigh them, and sang baby shark. We also learned about our new letter y and got yogurt out of the magic oven! We finished up with by earning real sea shells from our friend color crab!

We learned how light effects objects this week! We saw how light reflects and changes how things look depending on how bright the light is. We also learned that light makes color and sunlight creates heat. We mixed colors, made a walking rainbow to check out color, then we made a solar oven and watched marshmallows heat up and almost melt ( we didn’t have enough time), but we did feel the heat! We played instruments, listened to music from Ireland, painted invisible letters to make them appear then identified them, worked with more and less with a sink and float experiment then continued that activity to counting by seeing how many pennies would sink our boats.

Amphibians change!! Well at least frogs do:) We learned about the frog life cycle and got a batch of frog eggs to watch and see how they change! We also created habitats with things that frogs need to live. We some adding and subtracting with the magic oven and discovered shapes in real life. What a super great week!:)

This is usually the favorite week of the year because we do dinosaurs!!!!!!! We did number recognition while playing the floor is lava, did a volcano experiment, created dinosaur and volcano patterns, met the letter d for dino, dug up dino eggs and made fossils! It was a pretty good time!
