We have had a change in our 3 year-old program. Our Tues/Wed/Thurs afternoon class has been changed to Mon/Wed mornings (with fee adjustment).

Please help pass the word! There was a typo on the letters that went out to all of our Monday/Wednesday full day preschool families. Both Amanda Essig’s (Northside) and Jocile Nagler’s (Junior High) full day Monday/Wednesday classes begin TOMORROW- MONDAY SEPTEMBER 10th!!!

Chrysees Forbord’s (Northside) Tuesday/Thursday full day class and Jocile Nagler’s (Junior High) 3 yo preschool morning class both start Tuesday September 11th.

Oh No!!!!! Our beloved classroom refrigerator has taken its last breath...😭😭. We use our refrigerator for many important things such as keeping our water for snack time ice cold, keeping delicious snacks such as cheese sticks and yogurt for the kids cold, and of course many other things. Why is this important to you?? Well, unfortunately there is not money in the budget to buy a new one 😕. But... we don’t necessarily need a new one! We are looking for somebody who might have a spare fridge (in good working condition) that may be willing to donate a spare fridge! We would need one that is 3 cf or larger. Please, please, please let us know if you have something you may be willing to part with!

There are still openings in our Wednesday night ECFE class. This is a 1 hour NON-SEPARATING class for 16-30 month old children and their parents. There will be discussion with a licensed Early Childhood teacher during class.

This class is from 5:00-6:00pm and starts Wednesday February 7th and runs through April 25th.

PLEASE HELP PASS THE WORD TO ALL OF OUR 3 & 4 YEAR OLD PRESCHOOL FAMILIES!!!

"I am so sorry to spring this on everybody extremely last minute, but we just found out after school today that picture retakes are tomorrow morning at 8:15am in the northside gym! The preschool classes did not get the email or notices that went home with the older kids last week. I know there were some of you asking about the retakes. The message that I got today said that if you didn't have pictures taken the first time around, you can stop in at the 5-12 office and pick up a packet. However, if you cannot make it over to the Sr. High office, I am sure you can still show up for pictures and they will help you out with what is available to order. If you did have pictures taken, and you want them redone- you need to bring the original packet of pictures with you. If there is something technically wrong with the pictures, retakes will be free. Otherwise there is an $8 fee for retakes. If you have any questions you will have to contact the school office first thing in the morning. However, I don't think they will be in the gym long for pictures, so if you are planning on having retakes done, I would be in the Northside Elementary Gym (the north gym, stop at the office for directions) no later than 8:15am. "

Attention Parents of kids entering Kindergarten Fall of 2017 (this year)!! We will be holding a late session Rev Up for Kindergarten next week. The class will be held July 31-Aug 3 (m-th), 9:00am - 11:00am, in the School Readiness/ECFE classroom. The cost is $40. Register with Community Ed. Stop in the office or call 320-843-4545. Must be 5 years old by September 1, 2017.

The class runs from 9am-11am June 19, 20, 21, 22.

Remember to register for 3 & 4 year old classes for the fall! Registration is today at 4 pm. Go to the school website benson.k12.mm.us and then to the Community Education tab and go down to on-line class registration, click on Community Education on the lower right and go to preschool offerings. There will be a 3 year old class on Mon, Tues, & Thurs from 8-10:45 and a whole day (2 days a week) or half day (4 days a week) choice for 4 year olds. Spread the word to friends, relatives, & neighbors!

Twice a week (once for Sara's class, once for Chrysees' class) since the beginning of school, Miss Hulterstrum's 4th grade class comes to our classroom and spends time with our preschoolers. Most weeks the big kids read to the littles, but sometimes they would bring coloring pages and color with us. We even practiced our graduation songs for them one week!! All of the kids (big and little) love this time together, and it is such an awesome thing to watch to bond they form throughout the year. For our last meeting this week, we had some extra fun! We went outside and enjoyed popsicles and then had some fun playing with the parachute. If there happens to be any parents of Miss Hulterstrum's class reading this....you should be very proud of your 4th grader! They were all such great role models for our preschoolers! Our littles would ask every Monday/Tuesday..."Are the big kids coming today?!?" They really did look up to their big kid friends!!!! Thank you Miss Hulterstrum for sharing your amazing 4th graders with us!!

Don't forget: District wide early out today! Northside dismissed 2:15, high school dismissed at 2:20.
