Part of being self-reliant is accepting responsibility and moving forward learning from your mistakes. Not continuing to lie to yourself about your own personal growth and, in turn, blame others for their lack of skill or ability. Together, we rise if we are willing to bear one another's burdens and help each other overcome life's difficulties!

Integrity is our character trait of the week. We have been taught well by our players this week about what it means to have integrity. Several members of our community have sought our boys out and commented on their play, commitment, or devotion to their team. We would like to extend a warm heart felt thank you to the Benson Community for your kind and thoughtful comments. It really does mean so much for our young men to hear your compliments and to know that they have your support. Thank you!

In order to be a real team, we must be selfless! Selflessness is our character trait of the week because the team comes first. Our individual attitudes and efforts are important in this endeavor. There truly is so much good that can be done if we do not care about who receives the credit. Br positive, praise great effort, and serve others selflessly! Go Bobcats!

Remember, the common reaction is always justified with anger because you were wronged. Forgiving another person is the uncommon action because you allow yourself to move forward and continue to live.

Our character trait this week is forgiveness. It is a very important trait to possess when understanding people and the decisions they make. Sometimes, those decisions affect others. Life is complicated. Those who have the ability to forgive give themselves the opportunity to remove the burdens' anger and resentment cause when carried for long periods of time. We can simply choose to let them go when we exercise the willingness to forgive.

Confidence is the most important objective in this whole process! Believe in yourself! If you have done the work and put in the time you have earned the right to be here! It is not by chance or coincidence that you find yourself in this situation. You have created an opportunity to put your efforts on center stage for the world to see. Let your light shine! Benson wins homecoming game over Shadow Mountain BENSON − The Benson Bobcats tamed the visiting Phoenix Shadow Mountain Matadors 38-34 on homecoming night Sept. 8, improving to 2-2 overall, while the 2A Verde Region Matadors fall to

#9 Dalton Crockett was our Defensive Player of the Game against Shadow Mountain this past weekend. He had 4 tackles, 1 TFL, 1 INT, and an FF, along with an FRC on the same play. Dalton also played well offensively, throwing 20 times with 13 completions for 144 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also had 16 carries for 94 yards rushing. Excellent Job 9! PC CREDIT: HERALD REVIEW
