It was an honor and privilege to attend the commissioning ceremony of former cadet Josiah Leonard at Shippensburg University Army ROTC and witness him take the next step in his journey as a military officer. I was especially humbled to have the opportunity to render him his first salute — as tradition holds, he presented the customary silver dollar in return for that salute. From this point forward, every salute he will receive will have to be earned through the example he sets and the care that he takes for the soldiers he will lead. I have no doubt that Josiah will rise to that challenge. Wishing him nothing but success as he begins this next chapter of his life and service. Bensalem Township School District

First year at Nationals. 11th in the nation. Statement made and Bensalem is now on the map as a real contender.
Over the weekend the Bensalem JROTC Raider Team traveled to Fort Knox, Kentucky, to compete at Army Raider Nationals and proved they can hang with the best in the country. Finishing 11th out of 31 top teams in their first appearance is something to be proud of.
Huge credit to co-captains Irakli Tsiklauri and Felicity Flynn for helping lead this team with grit, toughness, and determination.
Think you have what it takes? Join JROTC, join the Raider Team!

Bensalem JROTC was honored to participate in the unaccompanied burial ceremony at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. It is a powerful experience for our cadets to witness a military burial firsthand and pay their respects to veterans who would otherwise be laid to rest alone. We are grateful for the opportunity to honor their service and sacrifice.
