Our Medical Professions students practiced proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) doffing procedures using shaving cream to simulate contamination. This hands-on activity helps students learn how to safely remove protective equipment without spreading contaminants.

We kicked off the school year with our first school-wide Beginning of the Year Celebration!

Students gathered for morning and afternoon assemblies to celebrate the year ahead. We’ll continue these gatherings quarterly to recognize student achievements, milestones, and successes throughout the year.

Every student received a Southwest Tech water bottle and will have the opportunity to earn stickers throughout the year as they reach milestones and accomplishments.

Students also enjoyed c***r donuts from Propagation Peace and popsicles from the Bennington Police Department’s Copsicle. We’re especially grateful to BPD for continuing to show up for our students and being such a dependable community partner to Southwest Tech.

Fall Open House is coming up at Southwest Tech!

Join us Tuesday, September 15th for our Fall Open House. Families will have the opportunity to visit programs, meet instructors, and get a look at what students are learning and working on this year.

We look forward to welcoming our Southwest Tech families!

Today was a meaningful day of remembrance as our community came together to honor the 25th anniversary of September 11.

Some of our students attended the memorial ceremony at the Vermont Veterans’ Home, while students and staff at Southwest Tech had the opportunity to watch the Black Hawk helicopter arrive and take off as part of the morning’s events.

Following the ceremony, our Culinary Arts students joined volunteers from the Bennington Elks Lodge to help serve the community reception.

We are grateful to the Vermont Veterans’ Home, the Town of Bennington, our local veterans and first responders, the Bennington Elks Lodge, and all of the participating organizations who helped make today such a meaningful tribute.

A special day of remembrance, service, and community — and one we were proud to be a part of.

Community Heads Up for Friday, September 11

As part of the 25th Anniversary September 11 Memorial Ceremony at the Vermont Veterans’ Home tomorrow morning, there will be increased emergency and military vehicle activity in the area, including a Black Hawk helicopter and a 21-gun salute.

These are all planned parts of the memorial ceremony, so please don’t be alarmed by the increased activity or loud noises near our campus.

The ceremony is expected to take place from approximately 8:25–9:35 a.m

We’re back!

The 2026–27 school year is officially underway at Southwest Tech! Our freshmen got things started yesterday, and today we welcomed the rest of our students back.

It didn’t take long for equipment to start running, ideas to take shape, and some hands-on learning to begin.

We’re excited to have our students back and can’t wait to see what this year brings!
