College planning can be stressful, from the initial planning and application process to the financial decisions that can affect students and families for years to come. I help reduce the stress by giving students a personalized step-by-step plan, recommending the best college choices to meet their educational, personal and financial goals and interests. My mission is to assure that my students at
tend colleges where they learn, thrive, grow and are successful. My plan starts with helping students identify their strengths, passions and goals so they feel confident and competent. Discovering who you are leads to discovering great college matches. Together we make sure your application, personal essay and interviews fully describe those strengths to colleges. I outline a step-by-step strategy for staying organized and timely throughout the planning and application process in order to meet all your deadlines. My Affordability Review for parents provides essential financial aid information early enough-- preferably no later than junior year-- for families to take control of the cost of college, unlike the timeline typically suggested by many guidance counselors. This Affordability Review greatly increases the likelihood a student will have appropriate and affordable college choices after acceptance. I maintain expert training and credentials to keep current on college admissions, financial aid, learning differences, standardized testing and professional ethics. Personal visits each year to dozens of colleges supplement my training, so I can bring each student first-hand information about campuses around the country. I've shared my expertise on college affordability by presenting at numerous professional conferences on topics related to financial aid and paying for college. I have coached many hundreds of students from across the country to take charge of this important process with success. Their parents have been grateful for my expert assistance in completing financial aid applications and recommending affordable choices that match their college budget. Don't get overwhelmed. Call or email me to set up no-fee initial consultation to find out if my services are right for you. Education
