WIN A GALLON OF VERMONT MAPLE SYRUP FROM GLOBAL LINK TRAVEL!
After 28 years at 542 Main, Global Link Travel, owned by 1988 MAU grad Bob Baker, is moving operations down the street and into the old LaFlamme's, next to the Bennington Community Market.
This morning we had a nice chat with Bob at his desk at Global Link Travel, where he has planned and booked thousands of vacation packages all around the world ... Sandals, Beaches, Walt Disney World, Tahiti, Caribbean ... anywhere your heart desires ... just call Global Link Travel and they'll eliminate the hassle and get you there for a great price.
Promises of simplicity and big savings by booking a vacation on apps or online aren't always what they seem. There are tons of ticks and tricks that you don't know about and the experience can be overwhelming and impersonal, which is where Global Link Travel comes into play with decades of expertise and face to face professionalism. Bob Baker is straight up and easy to talk to.
"All we ask," he said today, "is to give us a chance to book your vacation."
Bob grew up with 8 brothers and sisters in the old Beech Court apartments (before the upgrades) but didn't let poverty or excuses get in the way of his hopes, dreams, desires, ambitions. He went for it, and he got it, professionally and personally. After MAU he went to college in Miami then came back home to build what has grown into one of the most respected travel agencies in Vermont. His wife Beth Hawley Baker, Arlington Memorial class of '96, has been by his side the entire time. They have a son and daughter and travel the world. Bob and Beth bring their worldly experiences to Global Link Travel.
"A majority of the vacation packages we sell are all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean," Beth said this morning. "This year Bob has sold over 100 Sandals and Beaches Resorts earning him the status of Royal Chairman Club. We also sell other destinations. Bob probably has sold close to 50,000 vacation packages over the years."
We're planning more posts on Global Link Travel as Bob and Beth transition to their new office down Main Street. The move should be complete by the end of the month.
Right now we're raffling away the gallon of Vermont pure maple syrup Bob's holding in the photo. It was made by his father in law from Arlington's famous Hawley sugaring crew, which collects and boils sap and sells to places like the Arlington Sugar Shack. In a store, a gallon of this maple syrup would cost about 75 bucks. We bought it from Bob and are giving it away for free as part of the DBA's Promote Global Link Travel Raffle.
All you have to do to enter is Like, Love, or Hug this post.
Are you itching to take a vacation? Check out Global Link Travel website then give Bob and Beth Baker a call: https://www.globallinktravels.com/home

Happy Friday!!!

Remembering Gordy Muckle today and always.

One of the Greatest Ski Crashes Ever – Biglines Aaron McGovern’s tomahawk from MSP’s Focused is one of the greatest ski crashes ever caught on film. So much so, that Aaron’s crash conjured up a verb ‘McGoverning.’ Aaron got some bumps and bruises on this one but he gets up like a champ. Shot by MSP Films in Cordova, Alaska in 2003. More...
