As we enter the holiday season, this principal's message will be full of thanks. I want to extend my gratitude for our community, large and small, both within the school building, the town as a whole and surrounding the Conval area. I am grateful for our staff, children and families. I am humbled whenever there are opportunities for families and the community to come together to support the children of our school; each person joins together to meet the needs and lift each other up. I am so fortunate to be part of such an amazing community. I have deep admiration for all of you.

During this holiday and everyday, I am reminded that working with people with each and every one of you is what makes my job great, and that's something for which I'm truly thankful.

I wish you all the best this Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful, relaxing holiday with friends and family.

Warmest regards,
Beth Gibney — Beth Gibney Principal

Dear Pierce Families,

We are excited to share that on Tuesday, September 13th, 2022, there will be an all school field trip to Gould Hill Farm to pick apples, team build, and learn about apple orchards as well as enjoy the fall weather.

September 13th, 2022 is the State primary voting day. The town historically utilizes the school for voting and Pierce School carefully coordinates with the town to ensure that students remain safe and that their educational experience is not interrupted.

Some changes to the building structure for the day that are put into place:

A police officer is present for the school portion of the day.

Students remain in the classroom wing of the building, unless they are accompanied/supervised by a staff member.

Community members use the parking lot and enter/exit Pierce School through the doors leading directly into the multipurpose room.

Students eat lunch in their classrooms

While voting has historically taken place at Pierce while school is in session, we hear your concerns and therefore we have planned a fall, all school field trip which provides a shared experience to kick off the school year.

All students will arrive at school as usual. Following attendance and morning meeting, we will board the buses and travel to Gould Hill Farm in Contoocook, NH. Apple picking will be followed by a picnic lunch and ice cream. Students will then board the bus and travel to Barbara C Harris Center where we will spend the last two hours participating in team building and outdoor science activities. We will return to Pierce at 3:20 for dismissal as usual.

Students have three options for bag lunch while on the field trip: Turkey and cheese, ham and cheese, sunbutter and jelly students may bring their own lunch from home. Please complete the form, using this link, with your child's lunch choice.

Please complete the enclosed permission form and return form to school Monday. A paper copy has been provided in take home folders as well.

We are very excited for our all school field trip. If you have any questions, please contact me directly.

Warmest regards,

Beth
